Unnecessary move presence in VF?!

    That one Kage move seems useless to me. But it wouldn't be on there for no reason I guess. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

    I've personally decided that there is a use for every move. It's more a question of quality then. With that in mind I nominate /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/ub.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif with Vanessa.

    Sure it's fully circular and theoretically evades some attacks, but who needs it? AM2 apparently thought the same since they scraped it completely.

    'Cause that move is staying in VF5R.

    I have nothing against it though, I expect it from Kages when I don't have much life left, and count on evading it. That's more frames of adv than you could ever dream of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    Unnecessary move = superfluous, equivalent to some other moves which have any advantage over this one; or clone-move (synonym move) whith minor difference in animation but whith the same technical parametries.

    VF principle - a specific move for a specific situation, i.e. seems to be unnecesary move becomes ideal(unsurpassed) for a specific situation which may occasionally occure, so it is not realy unnecessary and just seems to be!

    Examples:
    Goh at -11 dadv...Enemy rush-in and mix Mid-Throw. What can Goh do in this specific situation?
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -sabaki mid punch and clash w/throw-Against "punchers";
    or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gifK - against "kickers".
    These moves are more risk/rewarded than ETEG, i think.
    A specific move that is IDEAL for a specific situation!

    P.S. Perhaps this topic should be moved to the general section for example "Dojo", where could we discuss this problem.

    Doesn't inputting it as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif make it execute 1 frame faster than it would if you inputted it as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif?

    I'm pretty sure that's the case with moves like that, that's why you have to input it as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif in combos. Blaming lag for this was funny though SDS /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    I would actually be very upset if that move were taken out. It works best on wake-up if your enemy is scared. Safe low attack that links into takedown on any hit, and it's so demoralizing when you get hit by it.

    Sarah's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif knee vs. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif dragon cannon

    I don't know when the knee would be preferable.
    It's a frame slower in execution,
    does less damage (resulting in lower floats)
    Both are throw counterable when blocked.
    Both throw clash.
    The knee may hop over some lows, but timing is very particular.
    Both are high risk/high reward, but the dragon cannon has a bigger reward.

    When/why would you use Sarah's knee?

    Oh, I used to think Sarah's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif was useless, but it will hit/bounce opponents on the ground, and is 2 frames faster than other attacks that have that property. (/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif)

    If you want get 55 or so on Goh undelayed midfield vs the kick sabaki in vanilla.

    Though I'd much rather feel that with 6P and just get the 40 something.

    Besides the different sabaki class, 33K is always going to be standing palm punishable, whereas 6K wont always be. Single command motion helps make up for the frame of startup difference.

    Yeah, like i said, they're all unnecessary.
