Goh's 66P+G is listed as inescapable on the vfdc command list. I've never seen it escaped /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

What bugs me is that I think Wolfs GS was listed as high catch throw in the movelists before Myke revamped the lists recently.. Maybe I was dreaming o_O

lol it's no one's job but your own to verify your info

Just saw this, but that throw can't be escaped now in VF5. It's one of the changes going from 4 to 5.

So can you only do one or the other, or can you buffer both /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif to break this? I swear I was breaking the shit out of it tonight against some whack Wolf. Match was laggy but man, wasn't able to ever break it.

Maybe you inputted /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif too early?

I find that is the problem I come across when I buffer throw escapes, but when I mash for an extended period of time I escape.

According to frash, it is like all "breakable" catch throws in that you can only break one direction. You have to pick one and go with it. It is like Akira's catch throw like that.

    Cool, thanks you two.

You're probably right Sebo, I find myself doing that as well.

Wow, 4 pages in and still no correct answer to Wolf's DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif Catch throw escape.

Firstly, I apologise that in the Command List, this is listed as (defensive move) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, when it should just be /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. This will be corrected in the next update.

However, the notes for this command state "Catch Throw depends on position." While this is somewhat cryptic, what it means is that the throw that results depends on where Wolf is in relation to his opponent:

<ul>[*]If Wolf is in front: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to escape[*]If Wolf is to the side: escape as per Side Throw escape rules (look up Throw Escapes in the Wiki if you don't know)[*]If Wolf is to the back: cannot escape![/list]

    myke,

what the bloody hell are u talkin bout mate? jk /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

    BUT!

if wolf does 8 P+K, the break would be BACK P+G regardless of stance OR if wolf is 1P/2P side OR if wolf is in front or not. same applies with 2 P+K, but the break would be FORWARD P+G instead! and of course, you are right about not being able to escape if wolf is behind.

go test it out! i am positive i was correct the first time i posted it on here...

and if so, you owe me yet another championship belt! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I did test it out Frash, and the side throw escapes follow the Side Throw Escape rule! What's funny is what you wrote also follows the Side Throw Escape rule as well /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The way you wrote it didn't indicate that you knew this fact, so I had to connect the dots to make the connection, whereas you stated the rule like it was it's own unique escape rule set.

Just to be a little more explicit, the DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif can result in three different types of throw for Wolf, depending on where he catches the opponent.

    1. Front catch
    Damage: 50 pts.
Throw animation: looks like the last part of the KS where he tosses you in the arm lock.
Throw escape animation: same as the F5 throw escape.
Throw escape command: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif

    2a. Right side catch
    Damage: 50 pts.
Throw animation: identical to the (right side) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw
Throw escape animation: identical to (right side) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw escape animation.
    Throw escape command: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (if youu're 1P side) or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (if you're 2P side).

    2b. Left side catch
    Damage: 50 pts.
Throw animation: identical to the (left side) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw
Throw escape animation: identical to (left side) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw escape animation.
    Throw escape command: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (if youu're 1P side) or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (if you're 2P side).

    3. Back catch
    Damage: 70 pts
Throw animation: identical to (back) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw
    Throw escape animation: none
    Throw escape command: none

Just an additional note when testing: If the opponent is standing idle, and you only do a single DM with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, you will always get the Front Catch version. That is, a single DM doesn't move you to the side enough. If you do two DMs though, you will get to the side.

Having said all that, there's something new to me that I found while testing -- you can actually multi-throw escape to beat the Front and Left/Right side catches with a quick /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif~/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. If you can multi-throw escape then you don't need to be too concerned with which direction of Wolf's escape!

As far as I know this has been the case at least since vf4, you can multi-throwescape sidethrows. If Wolfs DM /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif will create normal sidethrows, then they can be multithrowescaped I guess.

yeah, i think ur right, ~ i usually multi-TEd it in VF4, and didnt have much problem~

does the first part still have full crouch proporties?
for example, even as an evading move, it ducked full circulars, and you could low throw it~.
