Ah, nice to be back up North where food is cheap like the women. Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming, yuu_kun, it's a grudge match next time we meet! And to the rest of you look out the 1chip is honing his greasy skills lol. Well done to everyone, especially optimus for winning. Akirayu keep the lei fei alive.

ADVICE:
Well seeing as how am 15 and fairly new to the game I can't offer much adive lol.

Thanks to the prince for the discount on entry look forward to doing it again. Shaun is learning to drive so it may become on a regular basis. When will the replays be posted up?

 

Luckily I was kicked out in the early stages, so there will be no videos of me putting in the worst performance of my career. Still, the meeting was fun, the people were welcoming as always.

Eddie:
As always, a great help with the tube stations, Kain and I have managed to figure them out (one of the attendants gave us a cushy little map!). We managed to get to the hotel ok, it was quite a nice place actually, and for £60, I was quite impressed (though the bedsheets were somewhat reminiscent of the curtains in the hallway). Anyway, thanks for meeting up with us, hopefully, if we can get one of those maps again, we should be able to navigate the tunnels ourselves!

Hatim:
As always, props (whatever props are) to Hatim, and to E-Zone for hosting services, always good to have the muti-talented Prince running things.

Ollie:
Thanks for providing the entertainment, it's always good to be able to mock you throughout the sessions, various insults to your hair, style of clothing and also VF skills are always fun (at least for me). Jide:
Ha, Jacky v Jacky. Was funny and very enjoyable, though a little irritating to hear so many 'Yeah!' sound effects in one match.

BK:
I'm disappointed in you man. You are my idol and you lost, and to Hentai Mark of all people!!!
Too bad man, usually such good play, I guess you weren't 'in the zone' this time. Never the less, always a good player, still rated the best London player in my opinion (not including Ryan obv).

AMakaHM:
Always good to chat to you about random shit, most recently your title of 'Hentai Mark', and how we could use it to make a name for you. Somehow, I don't see AMakaHM taking off, but who knows?

G-Ho:
Screw you and your rubbish girly characters. Pick a real man's character like Jacky......
(good games man, well done).

Sham:
Had a few good games with you, quite an improvement from the last time I played you at your place. Well done man, nailing those SpoD combos was impressive.

Yuu Kun:
Great games man. I think you and I have the best matches. Always intense fights, usually with those low hit finishes. Definitely want more games against you, I get a lot of valuable experience from our games; thank you.

FaoC:
Well done man, you proved yourself to be a decent player, and did a damn site better than me. Well done for the 2-0 against me in the group stages.

UK VF EZONE Ranking Battle #4 Results

I would have done the report as soon as I got back fom London but thanks to the "wonderful" rail sevice here in the UK as soon as I got into Paddington I had to wait 45 minutes just to get a train to Reading then because of rail engineering works my 30 minute trip back to Reading turned into an hour and 45 minutes of pure boredom. As you can tell I was shattered when I got back so I went straight to bed.

For the people who have asked for pictures about players in the RBUK forums unfortunatly none of the guys have a camera so there are no pictures for this RB. Sorry

Anyway here is the report.

This time RB#4 consisted of 13 players. 9 regular players, 2 returning players and 2 newcomers. Again because we failed in getting at least 16 players to attend this RB the groups will be devided into 2 with 8 players going through to the tournament and the remaining 5 to be evicted.

Group A:

Group A had RB#1&3 Champion Geeho, also in this group we have BK who has came 2nd place twice in these RB's(Geeho keeps blocking his way), Optimus, 2 returning players Sham and EV2 also we have EV2's brother Kain who uses Lei Fei as his main character(Finally another main Lei Fei user in this country. /versus/images/graemlins/lol.gif) both of these players have traveled from the North of England to compete in this RB and I'm sure that myself and the rest of the South UK VF community would like to thank them for traveling so far to play in Yesterday RB and hope they make it again.

1. Geeho (3pts+1 for qualifying)
2. BK (2.5pts+1 for qualifying)
3. Optimus (2pts+1 for qualifying)
4. Kain (1.5pts+1 for qualifying)
5. Sham (1pt)
6. EV2 (0.5pt)

I wasn't sure if there were any playoffs in this group but this is the standing order, again for the 4th time in a row Geeho takes 1st in the group again, is this a reacurring pattern or will that "first in the group streak" be broken in the next RB who knows...

Group B:

Group B had myself RB#2 Champion Akairyu Medion, Jide who came 2nd in RB#2, The Prince and Yuukun who are 3rd place champions in the previous RB's, Knee Ninja, Jeffahn and newcomer Ben who is also Jides work companion.

1. Yuukun (3pts+1 for qualifying)
2. Jide (2.5pts+1 for qualifying)
3. Akairyu Medion (2pts+1 for qualifying)
4. The Prince (1.5pts+1 for qualifying)
5. Knee Ninja (1pt)
6. Jeffahn (0.5pt)
7. Ben (0pt)

Quite a bit to say on this group the biggest upset was Knee Ninja was 1pt short behind The Prince and Myself. The Prince and I scored 7pts in total during playoffs and knee scored 6 since Yuukun and Jide had higher numbers scored this meant Knee didn't qualify for the tournament.

Since The Prince and I drew 7 points each we had to fight 1 match to see who would take 3rd in the group. I managed to steal that spot from him to take 3rd place.

A side note Jide and Knee played an interesting round Jide was using Akira and Knee was using Lion (notice the main character swap?)in one round it came down to the last hit, with both players using mids and lows just to get the last hit with that being said each attack attempt was successfully blocked by the opposition and this carried on for at least 20 seconds. Jide managed to steal that round with a double palm to the chest. It moments like these that I enjoy playing VF if anything it shows 2 spectacular players in action even as going as far to use each others main character. Anyway they drew in the playoff 1-1.

Tournament Format:

1. B1 vs A4
2. B2 vs A3
3. B3 vs A2
4. B4 vs A1

1. Yuukun (Li) vs Kain (Le)
2. Jide (Li) vs Optimus (Sh)
3. Akairyu Medion (Le+Ka) vs BK (Wo)
4. The Prince (Ao) vs Geeho (Pa)

1st quarter final was between Yuukun and Kain. Seeing as this was Kain's first time in an RB he did considerably well to make it into the tournament but I think lack of experience in tournaments was Kain's downfall also Yuukun himself knows how to use Lei and has experience in Fighting Lei's(Mine in particular) so he was able to use this to his advantage and seal his place into the Semi-finals.

2nd Quarter final was between VF veterans Jide and Optimus these two have played each other numerous times and it shows. This match went down to last match last round and there was times I was asking myself who would win? But Optimus using all his skills and knowledge manage to put Jide away and securing a place into the Semi's.

3rd Quarter final was between Myself and BK. BK pummeled me in the first match quite easily (even after forfeiting a round due to wrong button configuration on BK's part) after that beating I decided to change my game a bit instead of meeting Wolf head on I decided to play mid/ long range play strangely enough for me the change of tactics worked and I secured match 2 with new confidence I managed to continue playing the mid range game but upped my game a bit to control the game and steal the Semi-final spot from BK.

4th Quarter final was between The Prince and Geeho. I can't remember what the match was like (I think I was doing something at the time) but Geeho won the first round I managed to see the last fight which was basically Geeho beasting on the The Prince making in in rounds 3-0. With Geeho defeating hatim he goes through to the semi's. I think this must be a reacurring nightmare for the Prince as this is what happened in the last RB when they met in the semi's and the 1st quarter final of RB#1 way back in November last year.

*1st Semi-Finals was between Yuukun and Optimus to be honest I can't remember if this match was a 2-0 match or a 2-1 match all I know it was very close on the last round and Optimus who is slightly more experience than Yuukun was able to take the match from him to make into the final.

2nd Semi-Final was between Myself and Geeho. Having been beaten twice 2-0 in previous RB's and I find Pai is my worst matchup against Lei Fei I decided to try another character, I chose Kage. Seeing that Kage has faster strikes than Lei I was hoping a character change might make a difference unfortunatly for me that was a BIG mistake and paid the price in the first match. With being one match down I went back to Lei Fei but remembering the match with BK I played exactly how I played against BK and applied it to Geeho funny enough it net me 3-0 win over Geeho to take match 2 again with renewed confidence I managed to take the last Match ending my nightmare of falling to Geeho. I am sure I surprised everyone by defeating Geeho I know I surprised myself for this amazing feat.

3rd Place. This was between Yuukun and Geeho. With Geeho's defeat he made sure not to lose again by taking his frustration out on poor Yuukun taking 3rd place.

Finals: The finals is between Optimus and myself (a quick note of all the players in the UK Optimus knows my Lei Fei more than anyone else. We have traveled to Japan together and have well over 60 matches between us on FT in our short stay in Japan also Optimus was the first person I seriously trained with back in Saur's yard when learning this game for the first time). Optimus took the first match quite easily and then I upped my game a bit and took the next two games but then Optimus started getting wise to my tactics and equalized to make it 2 all by this time I think Lady Luck and the Goddess of Victory were waving there panties at Optimus as I got destroyed in the last match sealing the win for Optimus.

Ok I've checked out Casino today and it looks good people, (had a few unfair games against tony on Bleach and super turbo /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ) looks like we got some room for ft and maybe card readers, the engineer listens to people, you can talk, eat and not get harrassed there, hopefully this is a sign of good things to come...

 

if this is real and not another pipe dream, im definitly down for wasting money on arcades again.
