I'm currently searching for a good map for all you "saturday" guys to use in case of emergency but if you're coming into Picadilly, getting to the meet point is a piece of cake. Just a quick cab ride straight down the road.

The red circle is my place. If you use the controls on the screen and head north you'll eventually see where Whimslow road joins Oxford road and this leads pretty much straight into town and ast oxford road station. Picadilly is in the north east direction from Oxford road.

EDIT...

Ok on that map use the pan controls and pan north once, then west once, then north again three times and you'll see where Picadilly is, in relation to everywhere else.

But basically, you get into Picadilly and when coming out of the station you walk straight into a taxi rank and a little further there is the main bus depot.

Either by taxi or bus (bus would be cheaper and take you exactly to the meet point as a new bus stop has been made where we meet!) ask to go to Wimslow Park and you'l get there. Just look for a blue Magic Bus going to Fallowfield/Didsbury out of town. Ade wil probaby know the numbers. Wilmslow Park is a huge tower of semi-flats just past Whitworth art gallery on the opposite side of the road to it. Underneath it is a Tesco, a Subway underconstruction and a combined Gamestation/Blockbuster shop.

Outside the Blockbuster is the meet point and then I'll be around to escort you around the corner to the place the meet is actually at.

So, does anyone know if Jun is wanting to participate in the tourney then? As it stands we are 2 short (one in A one in C needed I think) for the full roster atm. If Jun is playing we'll need one more (provided everyone counted thus far does indeed come).

 

You can get the following buses to the 'destination':

42, 43, 111, 15. There is about 10 more bues, but any Magic bus who goes down Oxford Street, just get on at the bus stand opposite from Marks and Spencer's food store at Piccadilly gardens (further up from Piccadilly Amusement's, which has tag and decent stick's, if any londoner's play it).

 

This is to the guys playing SF:

I'll come up with a rough idea of how I'll work the mini-tourney soon. What I'm thinking is that I assign a number to everyone here (don't worry I'll have a copy on the day too) 1-8 and then we randomly draw out the matches out of a hat as it were.

Now I know WW and CE chars do have some advantages over the others...but they also have a few weaknesses like no Supers, less moves etc. Is everyone ok using chars from all 5 games or would you prefer that WW and CE chars are non-selectable, as with Akuma?

 

I don't know if Das's name is down for HSF, but he defo want's in on it.

I fine with the no WW or CE edition character's, there a bit too skank anyway's.

Yeah fair enough.

Akuma is certainly banned (just for the record) and sounds like the best way to have it is that it's a one char tourney but you are free to select from the 5 different versions of your character.

Now, looking at numbers, we now have 10 for HSF2. The best idea I can propose atm is to have 2 randomly determined (ie out of a hat again) preliminary fights to get 10 down to 8 peeps and then continue with the knockout stages to the final.

That's all I can think of for now.

 

Hmmmm, who is willing to let me jump on their bandwagon? friday or saturday is fine actually... As for Kingsouther, well my Vanessa doesnt live in a vacuum so since the last time u played me she must have gone 2 to 5 different area codes holmes! but as long as we all get better its all good ok....

Just to check, are Jun and Jericho going to play VF?

In that case we have 24 and all groups are sorted (Jericho in A, Jun in C is what I'm thinking).

Oh and Steev have you got a place to live in yet? ie do you know if you can make it down on the friday at all yet? Or even make it at all?

 

It's more than likely Jun will be entering, I'll check with him if i see him, Jericho dosn't play vf I don't think, but maybe he can be convinced just for fun. play it like street /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Can I be the last player then? I managed to get time off sorted for work so I'd be available. Also...before I book my train tickets, would anyone be able to put me up on the saturday night, as I don't fancy coming for a few hours and going away again like last time.

 

Hey, you sure can be the last player if you want to be (I've a feeling Jerichos mainly coming for the SF). You get to be in Ryans group! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif (along with me, Maximum, Mye and Stalwart).

You can stay at mine on the saturday if you want a place to stay. I'm sure you could teach me a few things on pro evo after the tourney but yeah if you can make it down, you're more than welcome to crash in my room on the saturday night.

hey i was wondering how bothered you are about having equal groups as i miiiiiight tag along with stroppa after all (financial situation not quite as dire as i thought, and going the night before means its cheaper and getting enough games to justify the trip in)

If you'd rather keep the groups even though I don't mind not coming.

Manchester central is the nearest and best for you if your going out partying (It's LITERALLY in the centre and you won't have to walk too far after you've been clubbing) I'd love to tag along to show you the best places to go(I'm a bad ass party till I drop kinda guy). However I think I'll be playing Ryan and co for practice (as I think I'm going out after the tournie on sat night). Still, if you want some advice on WHERE to go, PM me what type of music you like, the atmosphere you like etc and I'll point you in the right direction.

 

Well, things are totally up in the air at the moment...

Jide is now coming up after all so I think I'll put him back into his original group in place of Vosor1.

Now, thing is, there are some players who I haven't heard from in a while about things...which either means they're definately coming and haven't said anything or that they've forgotten about it/can't make it etc...

Plus some players have said "yes" eg Nakura and Rayne but they're not sure if they can actually make it.

If you can make it down then by all means come with Stroppa and I'll try and pencil you in somewhere. If things get too hectic, I'll drop out and juts organise things, I'll be gettin plenty of games in over the 2/3 days as it is.

Juts to check, Stroppa/Faded, would you be coming down the saturday night, staying and going on the sunday or coming down the friday staying the night and going after the tourney on the saturday?
