yo man cool trust me u should remember how angry i was with the vf tournament at absoultion cos i left my stick with someone else and it got nicked
i was grateful and that cos u would of allowed me to use your stick but i thought na man its not mine at all.

so i used some next guys ps2 pad for the 1st time and lost 4 won 2
before i even started i was not in the mood and since then i aint ever played the game serious since cos all my work was for sweet F-A until

Just for the record (and the honour and respect /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif) I can guarantee (hmm seems to be my favourite word these days) I'll be using a stick for all beat em ups I play on the 25th.

As for stuff gong missing that's really not on. Last time we had a big meet nothing went missing and I'm sure this time will be the same.

On the topic of bindings, can people vote whether they want to allow them or not please. So far I'm guessing we have...

no i am not saying anything, you make this shit up.

im saying, it depends on the pad (saturn pads were sick for fighting games)

and that pads arguably needs less pico seconds to talk to the console!!!

and the fact that as u need less movement, pads are inherently faster then sticks!

easy if u think about it!

 

hell, if they need to play with "bindings" let them!

i remember when my kid brothers was younger and they needed a handicap advantage with sf2 on snes back in the day...

 

On the topic of SF, what's the best way to run the matches? First to 2 or first to 3 (in terms of rounds). Oh and timed rounds or till KO (no time limit)? Never actually played in any SF tourney before.

As for handicaps, Deluxe Vs still has them on SF collection 2. When me and Ade played it we'd put it so all damage was well weakened and fights were far tougher and longer to win, like Iron Fight in VF.

 

street fighter i dont think is as fast as vf evo could be why not have a test run yourself at home and time the games if anything just do the best of 9

meaning 1st person to 5 games and done with if 8 people play make it like superstreetfighter on the snes when u have losers brackets as well it
should take no longer then 2-3 hrs i am guessing at max

Ok as regards to the binding situation, I'm not really bothered, people can use a dreamcast fishing rod if they want. /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif If your using bindings (P&G and P&K&G) then you probly havn't taken time to learn the game properly and so don't take the game seriously so it's all good. Just play for fun then.

On the subject of Cd's being faster on pad,(speaking from experience) they are slightly. If yoy try doing forward, backdashes and forward Cd's etc on a pad it's gonna be faster for the simple fact your thumb has to travel less area than a stick user to get the inputs. Now the reason why a stick is better than a pad in my opinion is because you get more accurate inputs (with practise) due to the target area being larger.
End of the day it's up to people what they use, but If I was to say take up Snooker properly I wouldn't really try to master playing using a Pool Cue (even though it's possible) because it's not the right equimpment, and it'll be just funny! /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

 

I say run street normal setting best of 3 rounds (first to 2), first to 3 matches ^_^

 

Ahh ok cheers (we are taking Turbo 4 too right? I hope so!).

It really will just be a short little knockout out thing in the afternoon though, with randomised places for all 8, straight knock out no nonsense and it'd be all on one tv whilst others played some VF.

 

I'll play on any speed, (10 stars even), but I do think torni standard is super turbo speed 2 in the arcade. Up to you guys really.

I was going to reply with something long and angry but I just can't be arsed.

If you don't want people to misunderstand you then don't be so damned vague. Didn't it make sense to assume that you were talking about the Dreamcast pad (which I didn't even do since I ASKED A QUESTION) since VF3 was on it? You don't have to be a prick.

But whatever, I'll shut up before I get "bizness"ed with "da lead pipe".

Jericho, dude, i get what you are saying and i agree to an extent. when people beat you just coz they are using mulitple button assignments, it is very annoying and you feel totally cheated. however, insulting ALL pad players is not right, i am a pad player (VF), but i don't use any of the top bottons, all i have is:
X=guard
Square=punch
Triangle=kick.

thats it. are you saying that i too am a skank?
when you post, just make sure you specify what you mean.

btw, i only use a pad cos i cannot afford a stick, hell my T.V. only plays 60hz in Black and White!

as for different game systems pads being an issue, this is a rather pathetic attitude to take: you can't say that you don't mind people playing on pads if the pad is shit, but you do mind if it is good, because this is just a cowards way of saying "i don't mind people playing on a pad if it puts them at a disadvantage, but i do mind if it puts me at one".
thats just cowardly and low.

i was talking to random dick face, not you. i have no beef with you, i actually agree with you about bindings, but i don't like it when people assume that all pad players use them. i was simply pointing out that not all pad players are multiple button assignment using cheaters!

as for playing you on SF, i don't play that game, if i played you i would proabaly lose, even if you let me use those cheat characters coz i can't play that game at all, i only play VF.
