Truesonic - Online Matches

Just watched the most recent pai luismustdie match, you won, so no complaints there, but i seen some major weaknesses in your game.

Virtually no backdashing to set up moves once engaged with opponent. I'm no jeffrey expert, but i think its very important with him (someone more versed in jeffrey chime in)

No p throw, or 2p throw, you should mix it into the flow some.

No evade to avoid moves, no evades to set up offense. You can get past lower oppenents, but you will need it to get better. Work on evading more, and mix up your attacks. lots of 2p combo, 2p combo, etc. You need more variety and more delayed attacks and more evades, and more dashing to control distance.

 

I don't think eileen's your main or at least it's the only vid I saw in my quick look with you playing as her. SO with that in mind I like how you moved around with her. I guess most of my comments would help Ughill. You weren't getting punished for all that hopping around you were doing i.e. the 66P+K+G rolls in his face on rising that he kept not using a rising kick to knock you out of which would have been the correct response (except that one time you got behind him on rising with the 6P+K+G, P+K that was sweet).

nice use of 6K as a medium range punisher for whiffs. You were getting punished at all for putting yourself at -8 on a fairly regular basis as a lot of the time you were attacking at dis (though I'm guessing this was a series of matches so you probably knew by then Ughill wasn't going to punish you for it) it's just important to know I think that you were doing that.

Again I know(don't think) you play her as your main and there are pretty nick picky things.

p.s.

I liked the part where you 44P'd to avoid Ughill's PPP string, seems there are situations to use that move, Though I do wonder if a box stepping back dash would work also.

@smb_is_me: Yeah I noticed that too, I tend to either play too defensively or just attempt to bum rush the opponent. Thanks for the advice I'll try to vary it up some.

I appreciate the tips, to be honest I'm trying to pick up at least one female VF character and I've taken a liking to Eileen. She has so many fun moves although I can't pull half of them off. Once again your tips are great seeing as your like the only Eileen player I know.

@Dive2Blue: Sure I'd love to but I have to figure out how to make the Dazzle work with my Saturn. Anything in particular you want to see? I have all the Sega fighting games for Saturn (VF2, VF Kids, Fighters Megamix and Fighting Vipers)

- Second match, It was a close fight, you could have won a few rounds.
- Third&Forth match, looks like you're doing well with Lion against Pai, loved that jumping over while their down tactic.

And to everyone: disregard my pai, haha. Nah, jk. I have finally undertaken the task of halfheartedly trying to develop a sub. But maaaaaan, is it rough going, i'm getting raped by eveyrone under the sun. For the sake of full disclosure, i lost the first3-4 matches, then made a mini comeback, then started splitting them. overall true sonic's lion was the victor of that scenario.
Its too wierd when i go play a charactar, say lion, and think to myself, ooohh, i've never played lion like this before.

 

@ZeroEx: I used the VOB file straight from the Dazzle DVD recorder, which is why it probably took 2 hours to upload.

@smb_is_me: No problem as I said before I like doing this. I'd say when I was Lion and you were Pai we kept going back and forth enough to be even.
