Tournament console standard: 360 or PS3

Majority of players already agreed to use the PS3 version for VTYME as people won't have enough time to practice on the new version. IMO, I don't think version C is a big jump from version B.

Aside from the sticks, how about hardware that doesn't shit bricks on a regular basis?

I don't understand how people who run game centers / tourneys deal with 360 failures - my brand new 360 has something loose and rattling around inside it. Ridiculous lack of quality control ...

KoD- it's hit and miss with MS. I have a day 1 Xbox that hasn't broken since I got it. Some get the new ones that have problems. MS quality control is garbage, however their customer service is unrivaled. You can get the stuff replaced as quick as a phone call and it's pretty quick and easy.

MS can't quality control well enough so they give kick ass customer help, good buisness ploy.

So I've been swayed it makes sence to keep playing the ps3 version for the next 1 or two months to give people time to switch to version C. I can't see it making sence to keep it up past new years tho.

I'm always a firm believer that we should be playing the latest version available, regardless. Unless it's deemed broken or unworthy for play anyway. So I'd say start using Version C (360) Day one.

Agreed. Version C all the way. We got the latest version, why not play with it.

    Okay here's a new idea:

For gatherings 360 and PS3 use will be dependent on which one is agreed on or both if possible. For tournaments will use 360 after NEC and VTYME there on out as the more we look at it, the more pointless it is to keep playing PS3 even with the VHGS.

Obviously this completely blows for PS3 owners but unfortunately that's how it is. Hopefully 360 owners can be nice and bring their consoles to gatherings and maybe even go an extra yard and invest in sticks (as I know alot of doa players still play pad despite how bad it is).

I have a invested in a Hori EX and plan to mod it and also plan in the future to make a custom. (I will use custom for tournaments and Hori for casual/LIVE)

Wait what? NEC is using the PS3 version? In December?

Not sure as the NEC organizer is pretty much giving us NO INFORMATION, however during december might give people a chance to convince him to go to 360 cause by that time PS3 REALLY will be outdated.

Yo, this is DancingFighterG. As a tournament director I would say use the newest version if you have the ability. For tournaments that are scheduled for the end of year I would say use 360 if you can and go from there. I don't have an xbox but a lot of players in CO do so you have to go with the concensus. Based off list here there are some notable changes to the xbox version character wise so it would be hard to play version B with certain characters. You don't want players saying "if only i had version C sarah I would of won"

What you have sir isn't a problem. Any search would tell you what that "rattling" is. It is in all 360s. It is the sensor that tells whether your 360 is vertical or horizontal so that it lights up that green ring on the front properly for your orientation. It is perfectly normal. That it moves when you move around your 360.

Problem or not - it fucking RATTLES!

I don't like things in my car to rattle. If I ever buy a 360 - I would find the rattling stupid at best!

I'm aware of the little ball bearing switch (nevermind the stupidity of microsoft using a physical switch instead of, say, a low cost accelerometer or a display that isn't orientation dependent). This is much worse - i.e. if you as much as set your controller down on top of the console, it sounds like there's a fucking spring loose inside it. Anyway, it's already been exchanged for a console that has the ball bearing rattle but doesn't sound like a jack-in-the-box.

But if someone says "if only i had version 'a' sarah*", that's ok? If tournaments happened enough for me to care, I'd say that having 2 different versions is rather bad for the community.

*(I know Sarah is better in ver B)
