    Just a heads up: contrary to what is indicated in the command list OS [4][P] tracks to vane's back - NOT to her stomach.

    This is a major change from VF5 vanilla when [1][P][+][K] tracked indeed to vane's front! I noticed the discrepancy while playing kingo offline a couple of days ago: [4][P] seemed to consistenty CH him when he tried to boxstep to vane's back at the beggining of a round. So i confirmed it in the dojo by setting the CPU to evade.

    This is good news because [4][P] is much safer to use than [2][K][+][G] in order to track to vane's back!

    DS [1][P] - so cheap
    DS [K][K] - so easy, kinda cheap
    DS [6][6][K] - good circular mid, possible wall hits
    OS [9][P] - kills 2P and most? lows, combo starter, gives frame advantage, so cheap
    OS [6][6][K]+[G] - destroys back dash and some disgusting uses in combos, taka/wall
    OS [6][6][K] - There is too many good things to say about this move, very cheap.
    OS [6][P] - obligatory 14 frame mid, what more can I say
    DS [3][P] - 10 frames, +1 on block!!, +4 on hit, and +6 on counter-hit!! so cheap
    DS ws [P] - 13 frame staggers on CH, really useful move.
    OS [6_] [K] - I like the sound it makes when it lands CH.

    P.S. I see people talking about the value of OS [6][P]+[K]. I wish it was -5 on block all the time, but it can be if done from max range. I try to only use this move near its max range as a whiff punisher or to interrupt people winding up slow moves because it moves vanessa forward enough to tag the opponent and because if I am too slow and the opponent blocks I'm at -5 or even -4!!. The max range is approximately just farther than a dash range.

    The move I probably use the most with her is [2][K][P], either stance (get extra hits from it though in DS).

    I really like the [3][P][+][K] crumple as well, with the [2][P][+][K] bound. And what about the [6][3][2][1][4][P][+][G]!? 70dmg!

    As you can tell, I generally just play in DS, but for sure, when you gotta switch up on some opponents, [9][P] or [K] is essential too. She still has good throws in this mode.

    I wish I could include hit-throws, as they look awesome, but not able to reliably input them so far (buttons are cream-crackered), so just go with other punishment options.

    Guies you forgot 3 moves that i mostly use on DS and it should be in top ten... first DS 46[K][P] very efficient move, (+4 on guard and sabaki) and 1[P][+][K] a low combo stater... For sure the combo won t be a 110 damages, but it s a good round starter (and i think it s near to 70 damages) and finally the crush jaw (ws[P]) a real wmd!!! exe 13 very speed, stagger on counter...
    In the name of queens, you play Vanessa? we should play someday...

    @MakiLeSushi: There is no DS [4][6][P][K] move. You are probably referring to the DS [4][6][K][P] HP/HE/MP/EL sabaki. The *followup* is indeed positive on block (+4, not +2 btw). The move itself -7 on block. The frames on block of the followup are irrelevant because the string itself is high-high: opponents can (and will) interrupt it if they block the first hit. For reference, if the first move hits the second one combos for 15 dmg and nitaku (+7).

    If you are referring to [4][6][P][+][K], it's -5 on block and knocks down on normal/counter hit. Again, for reference, you only get a slam float if you succssfully sabaki a HK/MK/SK/KN with it.

    I'll let everyone judge the risk/reward ratio of these two moves on their own, for the time being - i am still working on my writeup.

    hurm. Not enough OS [6_][K] in this thread recently. Why aren't you guys spamming it at advantage? My favourite DS move atm is [1][P][+][K]. -1 on block and +2 if you can get the opponent to block it sideturned.

    Just a heads up about DS [1][P][+][K]: it has 4 active frames. Meaning that *if it's blocked late* Vanessa can be anything from neutral to actually +2 on block. And, given its speed and range, it DOES tend to get blocked late when executed from midkick range ;)

    No, you get CH by [6_][K] like everyone else and eat about 90 damage. Or it gets blocked and punished and you eat about 90 damage. Take that Back flip stuff to the Jacky top 10 moves thread ;)

    We can try. I live in the US, in the eastern seaboard sprawl, not the UK.
    I edited my list to reflect my agreement on the value of ws [P]. I just forgot how good/important this move was to vanessa's DS offense. I never really paid much attention to [1][P]+[K]. It seems like a move I really need to explore, thank you for mentioning it.

    Because I don't know the combos off of it that well yet.

    Try to play with truewiseman and u will understandhow much the crush jaw is efficient... For the 1P+K it s a good round starter for example or when your opponent is too abare with PPPPP or it s efficient against the sarah's kick =)

    Im graduate van player, so at first i will say about the DS
    DS [3][K] , amazing move to keep opponent out,
    DS [6][P][3][K], great mid string, against opponents that automatically duck after 6P cause they waiting for [6][P][K], also it can be delayed.
    DS [K][K], great move, you have to use it wisely, second hit turn the opponent to side. Dont spam it espessialy if first [K] get blocked cause second [K] can be ducked it and 100% opportunity for the opponent to punish you.
    [3][P][+][K], great combo starter, best combo starter for DS i think :) Also is great if you know how to deal against some of opponent strings that can be duck, great punish against duck highs.
    [4][P], great move, advantage in block and big advantage to NH and CH, my favourite van oki move.
    [1][P], great sabaki against 2P lovers.
    WS[P], great mid, can staggering the opponent and is safe + fuzzyable.

    Im sure i forgot and other moves, im not familiar with Van yet but i really like this character. :)

    Lol i think that Van is the only one character who should have top 20 moves coz she s got 2 stances and coz all moves you notice i agree with you i got more for OS like
    9K not really safe but when you know that it will connect, the combo will be a 110 damages
    4K for me it s similar at the ds 3K with intruder step in bonus
    3KK good for opponent who is crouching and finish combos (intruder step in bonus)
    66K, on side turned if it connects, awesome combo
    IS K, staggering and fuzzyable
    The Takedown, 3 choices and a lot of damage
    K+G good against an opponent in recovery make him side turn and +4 on guard

    Yea i just mention only about DS cause i have more clear opinion about it, i checked also OS but i really need to understand more how every move works and what properties have. I really want to learn Van. She is hot,great and fun character to use. :)

    Moves don't have to be safe to be good. 9K is one of if not the best 17f NH launcher in the game. It's jumping frames make it silly. Most big NH 17f or so launchers are - 15 on block. It's a general rule.

    When they start ducking after the first K, you can just low throw instead of doing the 2nd K :)
