Nice switch-up by Mr. T at the end, though his Vanessa has a really nasty habit of doing that overall [IMG]

    wonderful match with #s.
Yohan, you really put everything together on that one. Flows, defense, uniqueness, solid play, offense, delays, timing. Had it all working. (except for the 2, 3rd round?? where you went all defense at the end and either you guessed wrong, or tones guessed right every time, lol.)

[tony, great play by you too, for all the praise i just heaped on #s it went right down to the wire, full 5 rds].

    good stuff dr.familia, keep'em coming.

if i keep applying a strong pressure mixup i do well but if im guarding 95% i know imma get destroyed. I seen it myself where my inputs for a mid were slightly delayed because im hesitating after opponents whiff they 2p and it counter hits then im back to the drawing board
Great match tony against geewaiho pai, he's one tough dude to break .

Tony, in your match vs rare entity @3:05 that followup you did after b,f+k+g stagger appears to give VERY good oki [IMG] is that max damage or do you give up on amage in order to gain a better position?

Your mirror match with Libertine was VERY enjoyable, both of you dancing and showing off, we need more matches like that, hype [IMG]

You're right, I passed up on damage for better oki. I can get more damage from 46K+G against opponents who don't stagger recover quickly if I do 46K+G->4K+GK->Ducking K->46K+G. Again, this is only if they don't stagger recover quickly and against light-medium weight characters. I think it's around 80pts of damage. I'll verify later and edit it in.
Thanks! Me and Libertine have been sparring a lot lately and I think that once he gets used to the lag you guys will see how he's a better Brad player than me. He's already got way better combos than me and the balls to risk losing a round just to pull them off [IMG]

Thanks for the props, but you're better than me. And speaking of balls, you're the one pulling off [4][6][K] in oki!

Thanks for all of the lessons you've been giving me so far. I'll try to pull my ass off of Mass Effect long enough to play you again soon.

Haha [4][6][K] I don't know why it works better for me than [P]+[K] even though [P]+[K] is 8frames faster and has 1 more active frame than [4][6][K] [IMG]

Erdraug, my bad, the most damaging "combo" I could come up with from [4][6][K]+[G] stagger is [3][P][P]->[4][K]+[G][K]. You can get Ducking [K] in on certain characters but even without that it's close to 90pts of damage. I'm sure that there's more damaging combos depending on how bad the opponent is at stagger recovering.

Finally checked out that old vid of ours tony. Looking back now I was a little too 2P after my 6P+G,_6PPP happy flowchart back in the day. I have not really played that much vf in past few month on account of being bitter that I can't ply VF5R. Only way to make the pain go away is not to think about the game that much. But this vid makes me want to get back in again.

Thanks for sticking one in for us eileen fans. (sidenote) I totally named my car eileen. . . I want vf5r in my life lol

Tony, well, that's good news then!

Tricky, it doesn't show that much. Besides, you might have been doing it on purpose since Brad doesn't have a tool against low punch from disadvantage.

Nice matches tony. You know i'm a fan. Some of the things u do with brad (see above at what u wrote) is just nasty. Of said it before, it reminds me of chess. The way it's like an elaborate pattern with an underlying tempo. Look no further than the way certain move strings just eat up tech rolls. It's like they have whiffs built in to make it easier to oki. Seriously man. Some of the things u do with him, it feels like all brad players should be forced to sit down and practice. A lot of ur combos and ideas look like they should be the cornerstone of solid brad combo play. Great stuff. It's the type of offense that it is flat out fun to build derivatives off of. It is a lot like the stuff we have talked about before, where u start really KNOWING what ur opponent may do and capitalize. It is straight NASTY watching u rushdown and throw someone 3,4,5 times in a row! Way to work the tempo of the match.

Then u see players like konjou who just blast out a rhythm that ever so slightly counters the natural rhythm the game tries to conform too and ur (i'm) left wondering WTF just happened.

Or dabadseed's rhythm is just twice as quick as everyone else.

Cozby won't dance with ya and picks u apart. Props. That's assassin.

Chief flash beasts all over you making u wonder how wolfs moves string together 1 frame quicker for him than anyone else.

Gentleman Thief plays right at game rhythm but just squeezes the life out of every decision. Reminds me of Kasparov grinding someone out in quiet, closed position.

Texaslion is too fast, and always guessing right. Absolutely intense pressure game.

And we all need a road to get there.

Therefore: VF#'s working on his game. Love how u always have a plan, always have a goal, always working towards being better at something. I have modeled the way i attack the game and try and improve at the game after you!!!! True story.

And Mackfactor. Insane improvement man. You have the best focus at getting better i've seen since vf#'s.

lol, way not to use edit and make this all one post, brother. You might as well have renamed the thread while you were at it:

Hahaha, you two crack me up. Yo I really would like to meet and play you guys offline. I'm going to be at Plague's house for his next gathering. Please try to keep your schedules open for Memorial Day weekend, 2010, please.

Social, thanks for the kudos, I like your unique analogy and breakdown of different play styles. Comparing it to chess is awesome... except I don't know any Chess players names. I love to play it, not so fun to watch XD
Sometimes it feels like my rushdown and offense is improving while my defense is barely moving forward. I guess that's what happens when you focus so much on offense, you never really get a chance to play defense. Specially fights where you bumrush your opponent and guess right most of the time.
On the flip side, defensively, I guess wrong most of the time >_<
Sadly the fights/fighters that most appeal to me are not defense oriented. But, just like you already have, I will improve on that.
