To be a little more civil, I like what I see in R. Personally I don't mind high damage shit you couldn't have been a VF1 player if you did. My favs all seem to be getting
some good juice. I've got nothing to complain about so far.

Find a post where I even mention Yu whos his face. You won't find it.
You also won't find a post with me discussing VF's superiority over
anything else. What you will find is me pissing on people who keep with
the same old bullshit over and over like a broken record. Back off son,
you bother me. Most of your posts have some kind of DOA reference.

My name was SuGarMan yep. I'm sure you're an Overfiend, whatever the fuck that is. You're right though, I should be hella stressed since your such an "OverFiend" and all. Go eat your jello.

You threw the first stone with your shitter comment. Don't hate me for
slinging a boulder. Lets just agree that I'm right.</div></div>

    Actually I Sabaki'd your boulder.
I agree That were both stupid for this one for wasting everybody time cause the snaps were corny ass hell this round.
I apologize. Moving along on even terms.

I like the changes made in R especially in the arena variety and the side guard. I am curious as to how people feel about the fact that down attacks aren't guaranteed on throw anymore. Was this to encourage a more moral style of play?

Probably Not but sometimes it felt really bullshit to survive a throw and lose because the follow up was guaranteed.

I'm a Brad player and so far I haven't seen enough to decide for myself how I feel about his changes. Until we get some conformation on his some of his moves either being new and having new properties or just being re-animations I can't say where I think his punishment game stands. Personally I'm holding my breath waiting to see the replacement for his low punch sabaki. I think that will be what affects Brad the most.

I wonder why there isn't much talk about El Blaze. All of his new moves look like they'd be sooooo much fun to use.

I really loved how aoi's new moves work out and and pai looks okay but she don't seem to get any better based on the vids anyway she still fights the same way regardless. I wish I could have seen more of Vanessa though to see what changes she has. I am seriously thinking about making her my main character from now on the 360 and VF5R but I will have to wait to see if more vids of her in VF5R show up later.

Anyone else think VF5R is to VF5 as SF2 Hyper Fighting (the upgrade to champ ed.) is to SF2 WW?

    Seriously

    --New Characters

    --New moves

    --Modified backgrounds

--some ppl are saying it plays a little faster????

I also love the new music...MUCH better for a fighting game!

Hmmm...Not to sound like a dick, but I could see why you think that. But, AM2 been doing this since VF4. They had EVO and Final Tune. But, VF5R seems to me more then just a upgrade, it's like a totally new game altogether. Alot of the moves and commands for the characters got change and modified, and that's not including the new moves. Alot of us here have to re-learned are characters. The changes to VF5R is very different to what AM2 did with EVO and FT. This is a whole new game altogether, then just adding moves and nerfing a few existing ones and call it a day.
What AM2 is doing with VF5R reminds how SNK handle their KOF series. And what I mean by that is, on how each version was totally different from the previous one, engine and characters. Good example, Robert was a fireball motion type of character, but then became a charge character with added moves and a few re-animated ones that made him into a whole new different character you had learn again, same thing could be said about Kyo.

I stay that vf is the most balanced. The comparisons of what has the least nonsense in a fighting game, the better.

Except this remake has only one new fighter while the other one is a returnee.[/size]

Not to bad mouth anybody, but can anybody tell me what the hell certain "old-school" people actually want from the VF series other than a lot of new mechanics while at the same time keeping the exact same mindgames they are used to and therefore to them deeper?

VF5 added many new mindgames that replaced a few abare ones that are preferred by some players. Time has proven VF5 to be a very good game with a few problems that VF5R is actively addressing. That to me is enough to justify its creation.

Plus, I love seeing Taka-Arashi and ring variety back in the mix.

Love the KOF reference. Don't Forget Tons of New hurt animations,Move animations,Move Velocities and properties make this more than a simple Tweaking.

I feel like Evo was on the same level as VFR. New characters, moves, dojo, items, etc. Where FT felt like a large patch or sounded like it rather (Since we obviously didn't get that love). But mostly you are right.

They want people to play with. They want more people with a similar dedication to the game to be active members of the, sparingly thin, VF community outside of Japan. If a new version, with new characters, new moves, tweaked systems, etc attracts those players and keep them engaged with VF without detracting from the mechanics that make VF VF, then the "old-school" will get what it effectively wants.

Tournaments where you're scrambling for 12 people and constantly having to tear 9 of those 12 off of other games (could be anything) just to get them to play their matches is not the VF community we want. But it's reflective of the reality of the situation.

But with the reality of how 'bad' SCIV and Tekken 6 is, etc, and VF5 being in WCG, VF may turn around and go up in a big way. It's like they woke up.
