There's a glossary tab at the top of the page as well. Look up number or number pad notation.

I took a short break and that really helped. Sometimes I can get stuck in this combo rut and it results in a great deal of losing. Stay fresh!

I can completely understand your initial vent. The game can come off as far more hard-core oriented. But, as many have said here, it just takes a little bit of time and familiarity. Also grab some game time with the higher level players and ask questions. Many here are always ready and willing to offer guidance and tips.

Air Louis, even pros struggle for wins and get their azz handed sometimes. Ive seen vids of players in tournaments getting excellents over other players. VF matches have a tendency to landslide sometimes,so take heart in that. VF is just like any other fighter in that training and practice will make you better. If you want a tip you need to understand the mix up between mids and throws, because thats half of VF right there. Another solid tip is that the block button is your best friend in VF.

Hehe, only against certain characters. Using the block button versus Akira is asking to get raped savagely...

After I finished typing I remembered the guard breaks:eek:

But new players do need to get into the habit early on of using block. Most new players try to just attack and mash out things 24/7. They will get counter hit all day with that mentality.

Also your defense will more often than not lead into offense. Blocking a move and getting a throw or minor counter hit is usually a good way to get offense going.

It's Akira, most of the skill required to play him is strategy, not gameplan.
