I would like the ability to deny a challenge as well. For an abundance of reasons. BTW Krs, thanks for the match.

    Agreed.

I want my coffee cup. And my "You better tap."

I've heard PR statement are disabled online because of the high likelihood of it becoming little more than a completely unmonitored vehicle for swear words and such. And, given some of the things I've heard from other players on live, I'm quite happy leaving them off for that same reason.

No way, man. My wife and I hold rights to that coffee cup.

Also, I have to get coffee for Mr. _AGUT because of those things I can't do.[/size]</span>

Actually sadly enough, I don't drink coffee. I just like the quote. I may change it to one of my more weird comments that make people sad and quiet.

I'll vouch for this. He's the resident soul-crusher of AG Utah. He can take wins just by saying things that will put you in therapy on mental images alone. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

In my own defense, I can also collect the Ws by saying something that makes people roll over laughing.

OK OK I'm done messing with you on that. And for some reason, the honesty in "I may change it to one of my more weird comments that make people sad and quiet," makes you sound far more genuine than I give you credit for.

    Awesome.

I'm Scottish so when I want a drink I hop out my mud hut, choke a sheep to death and drink it's blood.

On a somewhat more serious note, I don't care much for coffee.

The ability to deny online matches would be pretty bad I think. Since the ranked system goes by points, you could just boot everyone who you thought could beat you or threaten your points and just fight scrubs.

The character change online thing isn't really a big deal for me, since you pretty much have to leave the game to change characters offline as well.

The one thing I'd really like to see though, is some sort of tab that lets you know how many people are currently online hosting/playing/searching for games. That, and more stats about a user's gameplay in general (IE: User character distribution, number of wins/loss vs certain characters and ranks, # of ring outs, excellents, etc etc.). But I'd be more than happy with the former.

Only thing I hate is how much slower the game is played online. If you're used to playing fast offline, it'll definitely effect your game big time. I'm still getting used to it. I may just end up using someone like Shun since he doesn't have to be played fast. I'd just have to learn him first though. I think online Shun could actually be stronger then offline Shun, if that's even possible. I don't know, I'm just basing it on the few good Shun players I've come across online and seeing his potential.

yep definitely some of the matches are soo slow, it diminishes some of the pressure and quick decision making to a certain extent.
Still I think I like to try and force the pace in my matches and make them entertaining /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I would love to be able to have separate rankings for characters. I play Jeff, but rarely use him in ranked matches b/c I don't want to lose.

I know it is silly, but I am two wins away from 10th Dan. I would be at 10th Dan if I would have beaten Jerky at 4 in the morning the other night, but Jerky is good. He would've been demoted if he would have lost, but he rose up.

You can already screen opponent's gamertags in Quick and custom match. I was wondering why you can't do the same in create session? There doesn't seem to be any advantage to hosting the match in this game (that I could tell) unlike many other online games, so if your going to give the ability to screen players in ranking, then it should be across the board.

Unless Sega thinks Player 1 is a valuable position.

I would like a disconnect tracker (# of disconnects) in the player tag so I could simply deny anyone with high disconnect numbers. Tekken does this on PS3 and it is a great idea.

Why can't I change characters in player match. Why are there restrictions on player match. Randomness on ranking match makes sense, but not being able to rematch on player match or change character is silly.

    Online replays
    Separate ranks for different characters
Rooms are cool if ping isn't compromised
being able to look up friends stats on rankings charts would be nice.

people much, much better than you that stay joining your games to pad their win/loss record.

It's just not fun wining 1 out of 20 matches because I'm a noob and the only people challanging me are people that obviously have experience.

    Fulaani,

this used to bother me a lot more, and it still does to a ceratin extent but, it was explained to me that when challenging players, often people will just keep hitting A in hopes of getting a connected fight. Otherwise they may get teh "unable to connect" screen. So it is not always the case that you are being continuously challenged because you are a target but more so you were the easiest fight to connect to.

But yeah I am with you... after me getting killed like 10 straight fights, I get it, you're better than me. Please find another whipping post.

Copy the Dead or Alive 4 online methods...

Yeah it's DoA and yeah Itagaki did steal a bit by combining VF with SNK's sexiness... [bless his horny soul... fwap*]

but when all's said and done, when you want a virtual arcade with people hanging around, Dead or Alive 4 is THE standard to go by...

Keep DOA4's setup. Sega doesn't need Itagaki's netcode, does he?
