isn't it the same thing? i had heard about some very minor differences in the two versions but don't think they were really relevant to practical gameplay (i could be wrong though but i just say u+k+g because i'm more consistent with the move that way. go figure...lol).

unless of course the move can ONLY be done via u+k in evolution in which case, sorry /versus/images/icons/wink.gif.

btw. whats the level of shun usage nowadays. it seems he's become super popular now. every second or third EVO vid i DL seems to have a shun player in it. are there any shun's there with a 85% win average or greater?? (hell it'd be amazing if a player could do with shun what chibita's done with lion)

All I can say is that's great news. The world needs more Shuns.
His popularity may be rising because he's stronger in EVO according
to what you'll read, and there's going to be more exposure as
pro players start using him and making him high profile. And I have
no doubt that somebody someday is going to become the
next Chibita with Shun... I think it's inevitable. Shun is pure defense
and VF is won on defense, meaning I think a near-Chibita-level Shun is
going to be untouchable. I think whoever does make Shun a god will
also likely marry Nicole Kidman, I mean in a perfect world.

The moves are listed separately on the command list, but are identical statistically in speed, damage, recovery, etc. So I don't think there really is two different moves.

My best guess about how it got on the movelist: myke saw it listed as a separate move in a japanese magazine/guide and so he included it here. Why the guide listed it, I can't guess. Maybe u+K+G is a safe way to enter the command if you want to ensure you don't hopkick or something.

Yep, I believe that as well, since you need to actually tap the
UP-K buttons on a pad to avoid getting the hopkick, as opposed of
course to the simple U-K+G. This is something I notice with
Lei Fei's U-K spinning kick thing from N stance, where tapping is needed...
