1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

I wish vf5R would come around just so all the players would come back. I could give a shit less about the new moves, improvements to the system, balance tweaks, whatever. The biggest improvement would be the XBL player pool, and that is really the only improvement i need to be hooked again by VF5. Unfortunately, it doesn't really pull me in recently, cause i don't like waiting 25 minutes for a good game.

I'll be off the Live scene for a while, seeing as my 360 picked THIS time to stop reading games. Might be a few weeks.

Sup, MADrox, played u a few times, lil laggy but fun!

Wasted Wish retired??? But I saw him playing last night. You couldn't stay away could you buddy? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
Sorry about the crappy 2 or 3 matches we had but dude! I couldn't do like 80% of what I wanted. I'm cool if I don't get 50% or less of what I want to come out bc of lag but when only 2 out of 5 things I try come out, I know it's time to throw in the towel.

Well I've retired from online long ago. Still playing offline sometimes though.

I'm waiting for a PS3 online version of VF5R.
I hate M$ and I didn't want to support them in the first place, Sega just forced me.

Blah blah blah. You can't throw in your own towel, anyway. And STFU - you're not quitting, either.

Quit.

What a useless thing to say.

"I quit VF (until I decide to play again)."

What's the point? You looking to play again later so someone will say "I thought you quit, man," or "I'm so glad you're back, man." Just save this I quit BS for someone who cares.

Hint: There's no one that cares.

You could quit 563,233 times. It wouldn't matter. Why? Because you like the game and will keep coming back. Learn from the 3S guys - nine years later and their game still kicks ass.

VF doesn't have some shelf life that ends.

I guess I should have been more specific... I am pretty much done with online VF5. Oh I'll be playing tons of it offline with Denkai, Cidkid, adamYUKI or anyone else in NYC who wants to stop by my place and play. Sure if VF5R comes along I'll dabble a little with it maybe for the first few weeks maybe even the first month as it will be new and that hunger will be there, but that's about it. I finally agree with Gerald man, those 1-2 or even 3+ frames that you lose to latency just makes it much more difficult to play the game properly and can make certain match ups almost feel impossible, so your then left with always second guessing yourself on the next move. I don't regret all the time I spent with online as it was definitely fun and worth it, but I want to be better at the game and learn how to react PROPERLY. I do not want to be better at second guessing to the point where I have to just stand there like a statue as I get engulfed in latency shenanigans.

Say what you all want and I know a lot of it is just for shits and giggles to fire me back up into playing and also to just simply prove me wrong, but really I'm done. You will not see me online for VF5 anymore. The closest thing you will see to online VF from me is checking out my profile and seeing that I am enjoying a nice few games of offline quest mode or offline versus mode. If I want to be at my best for Socal then this must be done. Again I don't regret the time spent with it. It was a lot of fun playing with everyone and seeing some players who I thought were just so-so turn out to be monsters. Good shit on there part and I look forward to seeing many more people grow!

I should prob put this in the "Share what you learned" thread XD but in order for me to fully enjoy online VF I had to treat it as a separate game than offline VF.

That's why I have fun even when I get my ass whooped by things I know I can react to better offline.
That's not an excuse bc online VF is IT'S OWN GAME. Hence if you beat me (or I beat you) online, that tells me that you beat me (or I beat you) at VF ONLINE. That's it.
I don't say that like whoever beats me online can't beat me offline cuz some of you beat me even worst offline. I'm just saying that VF online is it's own game so whatever happens online doesn't mean that it will translate smoothly to offline. There's people I get the best of ONLINE but OFFLINE, I'm sure they would prob whoop my ass like I stole something. It can go either way.
Sometimes it depends on whose side is the lag on that day /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

That said, I appreciate online VF for what it is: it's own game with it's own set of rules. It's NOT DRASTICALLY different from offline VF but when it comes to certain things like, for example: small advantage/disadvantage situations. You can't always do the same exact things that you do offline and expect them to work online.
In that sense, Konjou, I can understand you trying to get away from online VF to better your offline game.

On another note, ONLINE VF > any other fighting game OFFLINE. That's how good VF is to me. I'd rather play VF online than any other fighting game offline.

Fuck 0f throws online.

You probably got engulfed by the 0f throws and opps crouching vs your "nitakus" didn't you. You fuzzy but that shit don't work sometimes because you get 0f thrown when that wasn't even the opponents intention. Or your opponent makes it largely known that 0f throw is their intention through big choreograph, however you get thrown before your floater comes out to beat it, still. Or how about when you go for a big move that doesn't clash in nitaku, only to get thrown anyway. What about when you go for an ETE(not G) with 4 escapes, only to get thrown by one of the throws you inputted in the escape. How about when you get staggered like fitty times by Lei Fei but for some odd reason can't even get out. What about that shit where you're at advantage and you immediately go for a throw but you get 0f thrown first.

List goes on and on. I see it almost every game and every match. Especially when the slightest change in consistency throws my hitcheck off. The thing about is that I don't think I'd ever have gotten to where I was in the game if I didn't have it to play online, I'm fully capable of making the adjustments and realizing the differences and when I lose matches online because of them, I don't even take note.

But the biggest peeve of all for me had been 0f throws online. I end up having to use lesser shit to combat it when possible. Where someone ends up getting hit by my P or 2P from me when they're attempting obvious 0f, to me, offline that = serpent cannon. Online that = me getting thrown instead.
