so far everything is downloading fine except the very first movie. The first movie showed someone taking some sort of lumpy noodle/rice/oatmeal sludge and putting it onto something hot and stirring it around. It looked like vomit. WTF is this, and where was the first Punch-the-Sempu movie? Did I fluke into someone else's streaming movie by making a small typo somewhere?

If anyone cannot download this movie, it's because the webmaster has gone to WMV9 format. When you try to download wmv9 movies from rizm, it checks your version of media player against the version that is needed, and if your version is lower, it refuses to stream (even if you can play the movie with other applications).

So using both the long tedious download method and the usual click-and-save method fails. If anyone has gotten this movie, I'd appreciate them passing it on.
I'll be annoyed if all of chariot's future movies are wmv9, as it cuts out mac users and people who want to use WMP alternatives. I emailed the webmaster (chariotropou@yahoo.co.jp) asking for wmv8. Anyone else who can't download the movie, I encourage you to do the same.

In order to download the movies, all I did was apply your "old" method. To everyone who isn't aware, here it is:

All the files have bizarre names, so you'll end up pasting something similar to this into your download manager (without the quotation marks of course):

"http://www.rizm.net/userdata/4201/|`|||||`|||||i|k|d|j|||||Ö|é|é|i|k|d|j.wmv"

When the "save as" box comes up, just save the file under a different name, not those weird characters.

All this time I had been trying to paste in the filename as it appears on chariot's page, and earlier when I correctly did view source... I didn't think to rename the output file, so of course windows choked on it. Nurrrr.

We finally have a fairly simple one or two step process for grabbing these rather than the tedious ten step program =) ...I'll update my post.

Actually, there is an even easier way. Just install japanese font. I can copy and paste the url, with the japanese characters, into windows media player and it plays just fine.

Windows 98 has slim japanese font support (basically none), while it's easy for ME, XP, etc. Also the problem isn't just getting the movie to play, it's making sure I can save the movie to hard disk.
