totally agree. that was one of the best cards in recent memory.

Mir was hilariously unsteady. I thought it was over and then ...surprise! so crazy.

after the strong right Machida suddenly was slow - not rocked - but look how easily he was taken down after that right. and then ... the end. beautiful. If Machida is allowed a re-match he'd better find a better approach than "karate rush and exposed chin" or it will be a much quicker dismantling.

I agree about Tito but I certainly don't see a good end to his last fight.

man, I was rooting for homonick but that was a sick and quick fight. I, honestly, missed it because I looked away. thank goodness they replayed the entirety. [IMG]

A pretty cool play by play of Mir/Nog fight by Stephen Kesting. skip to 4:18 to get to the ground battle.

He has the leg position wrong. I love all the people coming up with ways you can escape. I think Nog knew them. When you have someone who outweighs you by 40lbs, its hard.

After listening to Renalo/Shamrock/Miletich ramble through Strikeforce, I realize just how awesome it is to have Rogan and Goldberg in UFC.

Tonight I say Diaz and Lesnar get the win. Diaz vs. Cerrone is just gonna be awesome. Lesnar is motivated by his ass-kicking. Overeem is too busy acting in LMFAO videos...

Diaz wins through small, unrelenting strikes, and trash talking that makes Cerrone loses his mind and, eventually, his neck.

I still think Diaz is a thug but he is one talented and committed thug.

edit: eep, just watched the weigh ins. Diaz was 1lb over, Ceronne says, 'bring it on'. could be an interesting fight.

roids versus roids! I pick roids to win.

A bit disappointed with the cowboy Nate gave him a boxing lesson lol.

Cowboy has had five fights in 10 months - that's a lot of time to not be resting your body.

Josh Barnett was awesome in his Pro Wrestling match Vs Hideki Suzuki at DREAM: Fight For Japan - New Years Eve 2011.

The spectacle of the night had to be the Atsushi Sawada and Shinichi Suzukawa vs. Kazushi Sakuraba and Katsuyori Shibata Pro Wrestling match.

Sakuraba was chased down with a folding chair after his win by Suzukawa after Suzukawa tossed three patrons from their chairs and threw two of them into the crowd.

I understand, all scripted, but it was entertaining non-the-less to see it all unfold in the middle of a nine-hour long fight card.

I am actually interested in seeing the pro matches. My boy Imanari lost, which made me sad. I chuckle a bit at Aoki's "improved" stand up, but it is day and night from last year. Melendez will still rape him though.

Just got back from Japan 2 days ago. The new years show was brilliant, got me my hookman v's hookman t-shirt, had really good seats, but then again I always do.Cant believe the show was 9 hours long, had a great night out afterwards. met Josh Barnet at the Shinjuku press conference.a few nights before too.

Anyway a trip to Japan wouldnt be complete with playing some VF. I got to say the latest version is really good. Im a really bad Akira player, but I have to say that I really enjoyed his new stuff. Just seeing good players in Akihabara sbhowing off the new game to me was great. it looks and plays really well. I cant wait to get it running on my Naomi come April.

    Capitol Punishment MMA's youtube channel

I recently got a ton of videos up. I had Italy's olympic wrestling coach over at my academy and at my wrestling club, so there are a bunch of technique videos from his clinics.
Does anybody know much about video editing on youtube? I would love to combine some videos so it is not a bunch of small clips.

Some excellent fights, some controversy, and what I think is disrespect to your opponent and the sport.

The spinning wheel kick by Barboza to Etim's cranium was epic, and the highlight of the night! I tried to find it on YouTube, to post here. I am sure in the coming days it will be there.

The Aldo knee KO was also spectacular, as was Palhares' Heel Hook on Massenzio that looked painful and hobbling.

The Silva DQ to Prater was unfortunate, and Mario Yamasaki is going to take a lot of shit for an unfortunate decision.

I was happy to see Vitor Belfort choke out Anthony Johnson. Johnson should have worked harder to make weight. It was his middleweight debut fight in the octagon, and to not make weight (I like he was 10+ lbs over) is disrespectful to your opponent, yourself, and to the sport. There is no excuse.
