    Totally dominated Rua,

He could've knocked him out twice in the first round, he backed off, he had him in the second round 2 or 3 times and backed off.

    He just dismantled shogun, OMG!

I think he's gonna slay Rashad... [IMG]

For real. He's absolutely dominated EVERY opponent (maybe even every round) he's faced.

Jones is great and shogun still sucks against wrestlers.

Jones is the future we all knew would come to pass. NFL/NBA level athleticism combined with legit MMA skillset. And he won't be the last...

Gotta yotube him.. I was watching the preview to the battle all day on spike TV and Jones seems very humble. A Real genuine good guy who works hard.

Jones is the man. Talk about dominating every asset in the fight. If there was a flaw he displayed it was going for spin attacks in close range after the opponent had figured out how to duck and come around to his back. Once Shogun did that twice, he should of changed it up a bit. Other than that, beautiful.

Oh yeah, I am glad Kamal got KTFO. I really can't stand that moron. All the ability in the world yet he just wants to be a lower grade Mark Coleman.

Kamal has some of the worst standup i've ever seen. He throws like a low level punch out character.

Gotta give it up man, Bones did his thing. Sooo glad I didn't put any money down on this fight, I woulda been pissed!
Props to JJ though, he actually stood with Shogun. He even took a few shots and it didn't even phase him.
JJ coulda ended it in the 1st round if he wanted but it was very smart of him to be patient and not get too excited once he got Shogun in trouble the first couple of times.

This month is so good for MMA action.

Damn, these UFC hype vids keep getting better and better. Hype anyone?

Bones talks about how he took down a thief 2 hours before the fight:

^I'm surprised nobody has talked about this already.

Really good inside look at the new champ

I thought Jones put on an amazing performance. He displayed such a wide range of skills and ability that it left me almost awe struck. I loved his pressure too, the way he continually kept Shogun on the defensive with those low side-kicks and unpredictable striking patterns, it was just fun to watch.

I think Jones is the champion right now for a few reasons, but mainly because he puts everything together so well. He never got rattled and he kept using his full arsenal of techniques throughout. Also, other fighters need to use knees to the body more liberally - especially when their opponent is that 3-point position where you're not allowed to knee/kick to the head. Those heavy knees to the body took a huge toll on Shogun, that's what set Jones up for that body knockout to finish the fight against the cage; the knee to the head afterwards was just a bonus, that hook/uppercut to the ribs had already polished him off.

I don't know if you guys saw it, but Shogun was actually already tapping as the ref stopped the fight, you don't see that very often, especially in a title fight. But I can't blame him cause he got outclassed in every way. The disparity in their strike totals was staggering. Jones threw around 140 strikes, landing about 100, but Shogun, he only landed 11 strikes over three rounds! He only managed to throw 42 total!

I think Rashad is done for.

There are more fights that I'm looking forward to in this UFC event than the last.
I'm sure Davis will knock Lil Nog back into obscurity.

I'm cheering for the Korean Zombie... not sure that he'll win if it goes the distance though.

Dan Hardy VS Anthony Jonhson... not sure who to root for in this one since I like them both equally... I do love to see Dan Hardy put people to sleep though, so Hardy.

Amir Sadollah VS DaMarques Johnson should be a good stand up fight. I say Johnson by decision.

Alex "Bruce Leroy" Caceres will be making his UFC debut and I really want to see if he's improved.

I also like watching John Hathaway fight so it should be a very entertaining card.

    In other news:

Oh and even though GSP looked amazing in his last fight, I think he's going to surpass that last performance.
And we finally get to see Jose Aldo fight again!

lmao @ knock little nog back into obscurity.

Who would you guys take right now in Anderson Silva vs Jon Jones????

I think jones, and it wouldn't be that close-- i would take jones vs silva in his prime, but im not sure Silva is still that guy [IMG]

oh and i agree with tfam, that we are gonna see gsp looking even better. He always likes to focus the fight where his opponents have the biggest disadvantage, so i look forward to seeing him mix up strikes with timely takedowns. Also looking forward to watching his takedown defense.

Honestly, I knew Jones was probably going to win, but god that was embarrassing. I wanted shogun to win, and he just failed. He had Jones' back TWICE and failed to do anything with it, instead he somehow managed to PUNISH HIMSELF WITH IT.
As a BJJ guy I think he was either going for a heel hook or some kind of X-guard shit. I guess trying it once would make sense but TWICE? god that was just stupid as fuck, in that position you have a guaranteed takedown practically. I think shogun coulda had a much better shot at winning if he didn't think staying on his back was okay. In bjj I also make that mistake but staying on your back even in a very good guard still means your expending ALOT more energy than the other guy, its just how it works for some reason. Adding the ground and pound it looked like shogun just got worn down near the end. Jones letting him up and hitting him HARD as he does it was just nuts too.

I think with a better strategy shogun could have won: Less back game, taking a takedown to wear jones down when he got his back those 2 times, and not getting up while jones is RIGHT THERE READY TO BEAT ON HIM. I think if they have a rematch it will be a lot closer.

Props to Jones though, I think rashad is kind of an idiot for agreeing to fight with him. He could have just said no but now hes gonna get ROCKED SO HARD. SOOO HARD.
There is a chance since there training partners that rashad has answers for the guy but I highly highly highly doubt it.
