I am the lone Guida fan amongst the gallery at Gerald's place (doesn't seem to matter how many people show up). Even Catherine shows no love.

    Yay for Brian Stann.

    Bongo drums are the Truth.

Amazing title fight! Edgar can tech-roll, too.

Strikeforce HW tourney seems to be fucking ON

    First round matchups:

Fedor Emelianenko vs Antonio Silva (Feb 12th)
Andrei Arlovski vs Josh Barnett (probably Feb 12th)
Fabricio Werdum vs Brett Rogers (March 5th)

Fourth matchup is not announced yet but presumed to be Alistair Overeem vs Sergei Kharitonov at March 5th

Winner of this tournament will be the number one heavyweight MMA fighter in the world beyond all arguments (sorry, Cain).

I was AMAZZZEDDDD by edgar man. he tech rolled while half concious, perfect timing.
and he went into the second round with NO FEAR MAN. the guy is a god damn lion.

hes so technical too, I think I'm a fan of his now.

PS- i think if they really went by points maynard should have won. he really did have rounds 1 and 3, and prob shuda had round 5 also. but its hard to give edgar a loss after he did what he did

I have much love for Guida. Very entertaining to watch. He is an awesome sport to boot, win or lose, and all around fighting-class-act.

I still think the Henderson VS Petis fight was the best fight of the year, hands down. Maybe the best MMA match I've ever seen; just a showcase of how cool MMA can be between two skilled fighters.

    Petis is an amazing talent.

HYYYYYPE!!! I can not wait to see Ubereem whoop Werdum's ass. It's going to be great to see him beat the only guy who subbed Fedor and it's going to set the MMA world on fire when he does. People will actually start thinking that Ubereem can defeat Fedor... but let's face it, Ubereem has a weak chin and Fedor is one of the hardest hitting heavyweights in history. Fedor is going to test Alistair's chin and Fedor will win the whole thing. None of those heavyweights are on Fedor's level as far as striking and speed.

Official brackets, kinda fucked up. Suddenly I think Barnett has a REAL good chance of taking this. He has the "easiest" road to the finals and whoever awaits him has had to go through hell to get there.

Any date for Strikeforce? It'll be on normal Showtime or PPV? I actually get Showtime so I hope this on regular pay channel and not PPV.

EDIT: Quarter finals start Feb 12th and it's on Showtime, not PPV.

Just to think - Frankie did the same dance that Brock did, but catches no flak for it.

    This is why:

Brock's dance = "Oh! Shit! This hurts! Run away!"

Frankie's dance = "Must escape barrage of punches so as to regain balance and continue this fight."

    Agree 100%.

What Brock did looked unprofessional, for lack of a better term...Frankie at least looked like a fighter.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">UFC lightweight Jacob Volkmann, following his win over Antonio McKee, declared that he wanted to fight U.S. President Barack Obama for his next fight. His words got him a visit from the Secret Service on Wednesday.

Volkmann, who is based out of Minnesota, told MMAFighting.com after his win over McKee that he wanted to face Obama because he disagreed with many of his policies.

Well, if anyone ever wondered if a potential threat against the President goes unnoticed, you just got your answer.

The Secret Service showed up at both his residence and during his youth wrestling camp to interview him about the potential threat made to the President.

MMAWeekly.com confirmed with training partner Nick Thompson, who spoke directly to Volkmann, that the Secret Service agents showed up and interviewed him regarding his remarks about President Obama following UFC 125.

The interview was a formal process due to any potential threat made against the President, and Wednesday’s investigation should be close of the matter.

Volkmann was successful in his fight at UFC 125, and almost mentioned a possible future fight against Clay Guida. It appears that one is much more likely than the Obama confrontation.</div></div>

Nah they both lost balance its not like Brock chose to go into a dance he was thrown off into one. The only difference between them both is that Brock got beat after doing it and Frankie didn't. Plus there's the fact there are a lot of Fedor ball lickers out there just wanting to hate on brock for some reason. I really hope Gray gets the belt next time! Frankie sucks

although I do agree points wise that grey won, I think overall frankie was a better fighter.
his movement was better, he has faster strikes, he even out takedowned grey, technique wise frankie just seems amazing.
if it wasn't for that first round it would have been clear frankie was superior. to me that first round just seems like a strange fluke. And this is coming from a guy who thought grey would win before the fight started.
