Well, now they're merging with UFC. Is that a good thing though?

 

Putting the most exciting fighters on the biggest possible platform to showcase their skills? I don't see how it could be bad in any way.

UFC also NEEDS this, they have too many events right now, with seven divisions they have WAY more quality matches to put on their main cards and people previously unaware of the WEC are going to shit themselves when seeing these guys go into their high pitched battles.

The only bad thing I could possibly get out of this is that the FWs and BWs will make the higher weight divisions look sluggish and boring in comparison.

 

I'm looking foward to seeing that Urijah Faber dude mix it up. That's a bad mo fo right there imo. I love his style, even though i've only seen a few of his fights.

I do not think that will be the case. As popularity in MMA increases, we will see more fighters join the mix. They will go to the UFC, as that is the bigger venue, meaning more exposure. In a few years, after Fedor retires, MMA and UFC will move on.

 

^Truth. I still love Fedor for all the great fights that he has given us but it looks like he's not fighting for the fans anymore. He's not even fighting for a legacy. He has made himself into a brand which loses stock if he loses fights. Imho, that's the main reason why he's avoided fighting Overeem for so long. It's not for certain that Overeem could beat Fedor but it's a very risky fight for Fedor with a lot more to gain for Overeem and a lot more to lose for Fedor.

 

I am about the biggest fedor fan around, but if he just lets himself wallow in freak shows and not fighting top 10 opponents, history will remember him as one of the original top heavy weights, but not THE heavy weight.

To be honest i think UFC will throw a party when Fedors career ends hes ducked them enough! He needs to fight someone in order to earn the title of baddest man on the planet but until then hes not a top HW in my and many others opinions!

very entertaining card last night. Maynard vs. Edgar was a bit of a heart-breaker ending.

 

Heart-breaker does not even begin to describe this draw.

 

I saw Edgar as winning...but that could be me being emotional.
