I fell asleep during the first fight. Went to bed. Didn't see anything after that.

Man, Shields is da man. I really thought Hendo had that shit in the bag....but desire trumps relying on just skill...same goes to say with King Mo. Maaaaaaaaaan, I am a huge Gaygard (see what I did there?) Musausi, but he really seems like he fights like he deserves to win no matter what he is actually doing in the ring. Big up for Mo doing the damn thang.

That brawl was fucking retarded. I hope Jason Miller is fined. Honestly, he couldn't of waited?

That was a weird fight for Hendo. I'm not sure what happened there.

The mousasi fight was...unfomfortable to watch. after the first round against Mo it looked like his strategy was going to pay off because dude was gassing and then we got to watch a 25 minute snooze fest. shit, Mo's double legs were sloooow and still Mousasi get reamed by them. bleah.

I don't get the miller hate on this one. Sure he stole a moment but the 6 on 1 teenage gangbeat was fucking retaaaaarded. the brawl was a complete blackeye for MMA and everyone that participated in kicking and punching a downed man in front of a national audience needs to be suspended or financially penalized. If left alone, Miller's antics would have just run up some spectacle and created buzz for a re-match.

Miller isn't clean on this one but he certainly isn't the one Strikeforce needs to go to work on. after all, they let him into the cage TWICE that night.

I'm sure Dana's chuckling at this one.
Shouldn't allow that many people into the cage post fight anyways, especially not diaz and mayhem at the same time lol
A black mark on the sport indeed

It would have been one thing if it was on PPV or Premium Cable. This was on National Television (CBS). People who are not yet MMA fans now have a great first impression. This is a sport, not WWE.

and it sounds like Hendo took that fight with a messed up back. The fight makes sense with that in mind but dude should have backed out.

Probably thought he had more things in his favour to win the fight even with the injury and the exposure on CBS worth the risk.
Regarding Shields hope that scuffle doesn't affect his chances of the ultimate lay n pray match up with GSP [IMG]

Nick Diaz is either high or he took one too many hits to the head

Haha, what a weird dude. I mean, I like him as a fighter, even though he looks like one of the cavemen from the Geico commercials, but still, he's a good fighter... but damn he acts weird. I can't tell if he's stoned or that's just how he is, lol.

my favorite thing about the Diaz brothers is that they just might be mentally challenged...but we don't know for sure. [IMG]

Anderson Silva on Brazilian talk show, April 18th, guest star: Demian Maia
    <object width="560" height="340"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/sA2jv71N2gw"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/sA2jv71N2gw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="560" height="340"> </embed></object>

Some interesting questions and answers here. Watch as Demian takes a sly shot at Anderson during one of his responses.

After watching this I'm left wondering if the word "humble" means something different in Portuguese or does Anderson not know the correct meaning of the word humble.

I watched that fight again and I have to change my tune on Anderson. I was wrong. He fought like a chickenshit in the last 2 rounds. It's one thing to not want to get submitted but to run around the ring like that is just straight up lame and cowardly. You're a fighter, you get paid to fight. Fight.
I still think he's one of the best but the way he fought Demian was by far his worst performance yet.
I'm still rooting for Anderson to get back to his usual kickass ways. It's true, he's had 3 lackluster performances so far but we still can't forget that he's one of the best strikers in the world.
His answer to the question about him acting the way he did didn't give me a lot of faith in him... but hopefully, he decides to act like a real champion for his upcoming fight with Sonnen.

Honestly man, he is NOWHERE near being one of "the best strikers in the world" . He would get tooled in a real muay thai fight against top competition, and would get his face punched in by any elite level boxer. Hell, he would even lose to roy jones, who is completely shot at this point.

Same, was a joke regarding the general criticism of both fighters.

My bad, let me clarify that: in the sport of MMA, Anderson Silva's one of the best strikers in the world.
I'll even go further and say that he IS the best striker that I have ever seen in MMA so far.
I'm sure there are people out there way more talented than anybody who actually fights for a living. Martial artists who the world will probably never know.
Hey if you can point out an MMA fighter who's better at strking than Anderson Silva, please (pretty please?) do share.
    DISCLAIMER:
There is NO sarcasm whatsoever to my question above. If you know of an MMA fighter who's better at striking than Anderson Silva, I really (really) want to know.

silva is really pretty fantastic. his accuracy in hitting is well above the norm for UFC and his ability to just not be there when his opponent tries to connect is scary good.

He debuts in the UFC in 2006, and wins 11 straight fights, 5 never made it out of the first round and were won with a KO due to striking. He makes good fighters look like amateurs. amateurs.

just based on his striking accuracy and win ratio in the UFC I think an easy case could be made for him to be the best striker about.
