Yeah, I'm on the fence on this. I know it's a dick move and if I were in the crowd (or rooting for the other guy) I'd have been super pissed but it's the risk you take when you put pause on the ass kicking and touch gloves.

What he did wasn't illegal under the rules. In fact, he touched gloves just like his opponent wanted to but then he launched into fighting instead of the traditional "circle to your corner and then fight" move. I personally am a fan of "if you want to touch gloves do it now, then go back to your corner and come out fighting" - it solves all issues like this.

I love the respect that is offered in MMA because it seems lacking in almost every other sport (mark that folks...the sport where fighting is the core not some accepted side effect appears to generate more respect and character in its participants than any other) and so I bristle when I see shit like this because it represents what people outside of the sport expect to see buhhhht at the same time everyone involved needs to know that you came to fight this guy, ergo take care.

all that said I smile when I think the following: He'll get his ass handed to him at his next fight, guaranteed. Word will get out and someone who doesn't need to launch an attack over a show of respect to win will demo him.

Straight from Rampage himself. This was a really good read. Kind of a behind the scenes that we don't get to hear about. I've heard Dana talk about it and everyone else but it was really good to hear from Rampage how he's NOT doing this out of greed or any other b.s. The A-Team movie role has deep sentimental value to him and his father. Another thing that got answered was why Dana White is not suing Rampage for backing out of his contract. I'm pretty sure that Dana White's lawyers advised him against it since he would just get countersued for changing Rampage's fight contracts so many times.

 

I know, right? I was actually going to post this myself just because I was surprised no one had mentioned it yet. I worry about Rampage's insistence on using the word "career" as regards movies, having seen the clip of him in Midnight Meat Train I wonder if A-Team will be his first and last marquee. Can't fault a guy for going for what he wants though.

The hope of a battle between Rashad and Jackson was about the only thing making TUF 10 palatable though. now it is just the bottom of the bottom of the barrel of big guys fighting (poorly). bleah. Did anyone see episode 2? wow, pathetic on all counts.

 

GE, I agree. Without the Rampage vs Rashad fight as a finale, the show loses its best draw. One of the ground-rules of TUF was that the coaches fight in the end, that added to the emotion of the show and the teams vs each other.

Now, with no fight at the end of the show to keep the emotional tension high between Rampage and Rashad, there's not much to see.

 

Hey, next week we get a ppv worthy fight of Roy vs Kimbo!

I was watching the match and when the fat shit put on the crucifix in the first round I was yelling really loud for a while because of the suspense of whether the ref was gonna stop the fight or not. Second round hooks n shiz I was like damn he's gonna K.O. him BUT another crucifix at the end (was yelling again )

 

Dana White said: "Its like if my daughter got on top of me and I let her punch me in the head. Its not gonna KO me."

I think that was weak. And "Big Country" was counting the hits out loud to force the ref to stop the fight because of 13 unanswered pussy hits to the HARDEST PART OF THE HUMAN SKULL. Whatever.

Not that I'm a Kimbo fan, but I was really impressed with his heart during the training. He really wanted to learn and come out of this a better fighter. Good for him. If he gets a respectable skill set, he could be a decent MMA fighter.

I'm not impressed with Big Country at all though. The guy clearly tries to manipulate the rules to win. He doesn't strike me as the type who understands the spirit of competitive fighting.

 

Or he could be playing it smart and not wanting to over exert himself early on in the show?

 

I thought Roy would just submit him...who know gnp. ANyways, how can you hate on Kimbo after that show?

Does Shogun have any chance of beating Machida? I mean honestly I'd rather watch an Anderson Silva match against Machida, Shogun's already been losing y'know? What do you guys think?

 

Shogun has a couple of bad fights and people are already writing him off. Yes Shogun has a great chance and a better chance then anyone else at 205. Shogun seems to be back in top form. Don't get me wrong I am picking Lyoto to win but Shogun is by far the toughest fight of his career.
