Watching miguel get knocked was a shame.... strange that after being rocked by that short hook he instinctively went for some kind of bizarre armbar attempt (or at least thats what it looked like) would have been a pretty crazy come from behind victory if he pulled it off.

 

From what I have herd Forrest is ok and did not sustain a serious injury. He was just ashamed and humiliated so he took a hike.

Thanks for the update. That was hard to watch. I really like Griffin. It's too bad he didn't do better.

 

I like Griffin too. He's a really hard worker and has a great persona but he needs to work on his defense. The old days of standing going blow for blow are over. I'm not an expert or anything but I think that Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida are ushering in a new and improved style of evasive and elusiveness.

Why fight harder when you can fight smarter.
If someone was to combine the striking accuracy of Anderson and the elusiveness of Lyoto and still be the total striking and jujitsu package, that would be the perfect fighter.

 

I've been wondering about the Silva/Griffin thing since I saw it. Do you think its possible that Griffin had some personal stuff going on at the time of the fight? Seemed like a bad performance for him all around. If a family member had just died like an hour before the fight I can understand why it went down the way it did.

I totally called that fight in Silva's favor, he's simply a superior fighter. Griffin is a great scrapper and hits hard, but his skillset falls short compared to someone like Silva.

 

Forrest has cleaned up his game a lot but still has a ways to go before competing with the likes of Andy Silva.

A lot of MMA fans I talk to hate the guy now for running out. Honestly call me weird but I did not think him running out was that big of a deal. The guy was heart broken, how would you feel if you put your heart and soul into something and things ended up like that?

 

people have left before an interview before Forrest and I presume they'll do it after. no one is owed a fighter's closing thoughts - especially people who've never been in a ring or put that much of themselves on the line.

Aside: This makes me laugh no matter how many times I see it. it's like Hardy called in a Marvel versus Capcom 'helper'

Cyborg was just too powerful for Carano. I was expecting more from a Couture led camp but there wasn't much for her to do once she let herself be overwhelmed.

 

Gegard Mousasi has a better chance against Machida/Andy then anyone else.
