I think he meant a defence against the triangle other than the slam. I'm no doctor but from what i know about the body, lifting someone like that with mainly your lower back isn't at all healthy. Would probably shorten an career if done too often.

Also, the guy who got slammed got a pretty good grip on rampage. That would have taken a lot of the force out of it and stopped him being dropped on his neck, rather than his back.

You don't need to be a doctor to know that lifting with that method really isn't good for the back. It's in most health and safety posters/booklets/videos/etc where lifting is involved.

Lifting that way has caused the porn industry tons of money in workmans comp. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

On the triangle - that is why you hook a leg so they can't pick you up. Part of the damage from that slam was the heads smacking together.

Anybody else catch Monson choking the shit out of Kharnatov? Aoki getting his shit pushed in, in about 45 seconds?s

Let's also talk WEC. I knew Curran was in for a tough fight, but godamn if he didn't just get supermanned by Menedivez (sp?).
I also want to see an immediate rematch of Mizugaki vs Torres. That was a BRAWL. Although in a rematch Mizugaki will have to believe in his ground game a bit more to win, I think.

A few of those fights were cool. Anybody check out Nick Diaz destroying Shamrock? Was kinda sad to see but Scott Smith vs Benji Radach might be fight of the year.

Hahaha, yeah man, makes me wish that Nick Diaz would tone down the thugged out persona just so he could go back to UFC.
I'd like to see Nick against guys like GSP, BJ Penn, Rashad Evans, Josh Koscheck, Matt Serra, Lyoto Machida, Chuck Liddell, or whoever else is in his weight class or near it.

Whoa, Diaz is kicked out the UFC and not allowed back in? Did not know that. I would like to see Nick get whipped by GSP.

And while i'm at it. I would like to borrow a little of our videogame terminology and apply it to the BJ Penn-St.Pierre fight: At least Penn will never be able to say, "man he raped me bad...and didn't even use any vasoline." /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I could have sworn that dana white said he'd let Diaz back in the UFC if he beat up frank shamrock. Maybe it was baroni he said that to though.

Diaz brothers and Dana had a falling out from what I understand. I have no idea why though, tbh. They always brought in good numbers.

Diaz would be good against serra...maybe Koscheck...all the others listed would rape him

I'm so glad you posted that GIF, it was one of my favourite parts of the fight!

Sad to see Chuck go out again but I had no illusions that he would do anything BUT get knocked out. I really really hope he doesn't decide to give it "one more go" because really, this fight shouldn't have been fought.

The Silva fight was fun and frustrating. The fight didn't go as Silva wanted and he was unwilling to budge an inch from his plan of "come to me" and Leites (who I thought was just patient in the first two rounds) never did as well. shrug.

silva might be one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world, but his last few fights have been very slow and nothing ever really happens.

well his job isn't to put on a show, it's to win fights.

fans WANT a show but that isn't in Silva's gameplan and who can blame him. Fans are stupid.

And marketability is not really a concern for someone who has said he plans to retire shortly.

Silva's job is to finish people. If you can punch someone's thigh, you can punch their fucking face. BOoo
