man, the fights were awesome last night. I was very nervous about my picks as we went into the fights just because of the way everything was shaping up.

I picked the following from the main fights.

    Nog over Mir
    Silva over Rampage
    Rashad over Forrest

    <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Warning, Spoiler: <input type="button" class="form-button" value="Show" onclick="if (this.parentNode.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].getElementsByTagName('div')[0].style.display != '') { this.parentNode.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].getElementsByTagName('div')[0].style.display = '';this.innerText = ''; this.value = 'Hide'; } else { this.parentNode.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].getElementsByTagName('div')[0].style.display = 'none'; this.innerText = ''; this.value = 'Show'; }" /></div><div class="ubbcode-body"><div style="display: none;">The good news for me is that I bet heavy where it counted. I was so shocked and dissapointed with Mir winning over Nog. Not that I didn't think it was possible, I just really think/thought Nog has/had the better chance against Brock - hope I was as wrong about that as I was with my pick.

As soon as the Silva fight began I knew I picked wrong but too late. that knockout was killer. good for Rampage, bad for me!

And then just when I thought I was about to be depressed at picking a card completely wrong Rashad does what Rashad does and I was out of my seat and doing a victory dance. I bet HEAVY on this outcome, mostly because I believed with no qualification that Rashad would come out the victor of this fight.

so...in answer to Tony's question, I didn't pick right across the board but I picked right where it mattered and I won big big. woot!</div></div></div>

I did pretty well for last night. I had Mir over Nog, Page over Wandy, Okami over Lister, Forrest over Rashad. Rashad really stepped up to the plate imho and for me was the performance of the night.
Nog: that is what happens when you make a career being a human punching bag. You can only get beat up so many times.
Wandy: This is what happens when ego dictates a fight.

The guy was so cool under pressure. This is the kind of guy you want to go to war with. Mortar shells dropping, bullets flying and you know this dude will still crack a joke or two. My kind of warrior /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Don't want to give too much away for those that haven't seen this UFC event yet but if you love MMA, trust me, you want to watch this event in it's entirety. Not one match went the distance. Devastating k.o.'s left and right and the main event was THE main event. An awesome battle between Forrest, who I have more respect for now than ever, and Rashad.
This was the best fight event I have ever seen in my life.

Yeah, I agree about rashad constantly improving. His footwork and head movement are unreal, he also has crisp striking. A bright future awaits this guy for sure. Rampage looked really nervous walking in, but he looked really good in the ring, he used his superior technical boxing to pick his shots and knock out wand. (wand is not a technical striker at all, he basically throws looping haymakers, legkicks, and occasionally does some thai clinch)... And wow, did Mir ever look good last night. I cant believe he knocked nogueira on his ass 3 times!

All in all a great night of fights.

I agree about nog making a career as a human punching bag, as bad as it sounds. If he continues this way he could have a very challenging old age ahead of him.

Oh yeah, I think Ryo Chonan got fucked by the judges.

Rashad has the right attitude too. He took a clean punch and it pumped him up. He kind of did a dance and motioned "come on" to Forest. He looks like he likes to fight and get hit and he's got a solid chin.

I think the guys that really LOVE being in the cage are always the best fighters.

He was a great college wrestler too, Evans is a superb athlete. I have to admit though, he seemed like too nice of a guy to go this far when I saw him on TUF originally.

Haha, yeah, I thought he was a nice guy too until Forrest started working him and he got pissed and did that "kiss my dick, bitch" move.
I don't really like fighters that are too cocky. I think humility is one of the best things a fighter can have, specially if he's good. Rashad seems humble enough after he wins but you can tell he's the kind of fighter that really hates to look bad in the ring so once Forrest was getting the best of him, he started smiling and did that bs just to save face.
But, hey, if you gotta be cocky, at least be funny about it, like Ali or cool like Bruce /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

WTF is anybody believing Nog is only 32? Me? Hell no. If u asked me if he was 32 or 52 and then made me put my life on it, i would nervously pick 52 as the "safe" pick. If u asked me to do that after watching the way he moves and i'd pick 52 with confidence. I think he's like those baseball guys who all aged 5 years after 9/11 and u had to really prove ur age or whatever. If he's 32 then i'm 16 years old again.
SPOILER ALERT: I'm 28 years old.

The hottest part about the "kiss my dick bitch" was how he did it AND landed the punch right after!!! How sweet is that?!?

EDIT: Looks like a ghost punch upon second review...

Thanks for those links, I wanted to see what Rampage had to say post fight. It was so good to see him win..

Some people I was with at the bar wanted him to win based solely on the fact they thought Wand looks like "a big dumb monkey"

I want to discuss the dream fights. Melvin K.O's hunt, Sakuraba schooled (and it was so sad...). Aoki heel hooks Alverez, Overeem knocks out Bedi hari....Joy!

Cannot believe Hari got knocked out by overeem..... speechless.
Maybe Cro-cop should just be glad overeem kicked his nuts in and quit bothering him for a rematch.

Even though Badr got knocked out, hes still one of the best kickboxers in the world. He just has holes in his defense and a questionable chin. Hes aggressive, and has great technique.

Melvin is a beast, he's on the comeup, just needs to work on his ground game. Knocking out Hunt is HUGE. That guy's head is huge and when I saw him take a few of Cro Cop's kicks to the head and just shrug it off, I thought nobody could lay him out the way that Melvin did. There's a Spanish saying that goes "Drop by drop, the stone will break." I guess all those blows to the head finally caught up with Hunt.

Yeah, watching Sakuraba get owned was kinda sad but a lot of great fighters tend to stay in the sport a little past due their time. Sakuraba shoulda been retired.

I like Overeem, if he would get the right people behind him and the right training camp he could be huge in the U.S. Here's the vid of his fight with an interesting background song

Lol, Aoki was killing me with that dragging his ass on the floor like a dog on the carpet /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
That guy's jujitsu is is awesome but he really needs to lose the spandex pants or at least find a better color combination other than neon yellow and pink /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

    Edit:
Just watched this vid and was impressed. Here's Cro Cop defending Minotauro after he lost to him /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbs_up.gif
I didn't know all the stuff he said about Nogueira, if this is all true then the guy is a walking miracle.
