Irvin is a C level fighter. It is an impressive win against a fighter from a higher weight class but still, James Irvin.

Oh, I'm not saying it was impressive because "ZOMG, he beat THE James Irvin".

I'm just saying the way he won was pure ownage.

"Want your leg back? HOW BOUT MY FIST INSTEAD!!!" lol

It seemed like such a decisive and easy victory for Silva that even the best light heavyweights would be [at least a little] worried. The whole thing was "is 205 Silva still the best pound for pound fighter?" and right now there's very very little evidence to suggest he's not.

Well...without including Fedor of course, but we're talking best pound for pound HUMAN fighters. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Did anybody see that kick that Rory Markham gave to Brodie Farber? I thought Markham was done and then out of nowhere BAM! fucking Markham hits him right on the jaw. Good stuff.

Did u see the Spider's kick sabaki?

Honestly the Dream card was the best of all the cards that weekend.
    Hansen pulled it out!

Rumor is that Jardine may fight Vera in October.

I might hit up a bar Saturday, see if I can catch the fights without shelling out 80 bucks for the PPV. I wanna see Rush, and see if Lesnar's improved any.

Cool, time for predictions: GSP ftw! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
It's like that guy was born for MMA. They say Forrest is the hardest working guy in MMA but I think GSP has everybody beat on dedication. The guy's like a machine and he takes the sport so seriously that I don't see him losing for a while... at least not until they give him a guy like Anderson Silva to fight and even then, I don't see Silva running all over him like he has his last opponents.

I heard Cung Le might fight Anderson Silva at UFC. I'm very curious to see how those two styles would match up.

Plus, let's be brutally honest here, GSP also has the fact that he's Canadian going for him :).

Would Silva ever fight GSP? Aren't they in different weight classes?

More likely that GSP could move up in weight than silva down as Silva already cuts alot.
I think Fitch has a good chance to give GSP some trouble should be an intriguing match /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Gamburyan is one of my favorite fighters. Dude is just violence with arms attached.

Brock Lesnar is the Juggernaut, bitch! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
I can tell from tonight's performance that Brock Lesnar is going to get better and better. If he keeps up that drive and that intensity that he's got, he's going to go far in MMA. He's still got a lot of work to do but he's got a lot of things going for him already.

Damn, Shadowdean, your boy got knocked quick, 12 seconds bro. That second punch after he hit the ground sealed the deal for real.

If I was a betting man, I woulda lost money on my boy, Roger Huerta, tonight. Hopefully he doesn't take this loss too bad and go crazier than GSP did after his loss to Matt Serra.

And did you guys see how GSP setup that spinning backhand in the last round? He kept trying spinning sidekicks at least once every round before the 5th and then when Fitch was expecting another mid kick BAM! backfist to the face /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
If GSP keeps getting better and stronger I don't see anyone in his weight class being able to beat him or even match him for now.

What a class act that guy is. Can't wait to see the GSP/BJ Penn rematch. Both of them have improved tremendously since they last fought, specially their standup game.
I'm looking forward to seeing them bang but they're too smart to stay on their feet if they're losing.
Both of them have great takedown defense and their ground game is too good (slight edge to BJ Penn) so it's going to be an incredible fight. Hype!

Great fight for GSP. I honestly wanted it finished in the first round but was happy it went to the 5th because it showed exactly what St. Pierre is capable of. he dominated Fitch even if he didn't put him down in 5. now, the only reason I would take a finisher is just because of Fitch's post fight interview. wotta punk. I hope he tries again so GSP can hand him his ass proper.

The only thing that saved Fitch was a head made of concrete. That third round alone: sweet right hand followed by a knee, followed by a high kick and then a knee (missed roundhouse)....that would have felled most other people. But a thick head doesn't = "his speed is what hurt me". fitch was doomed from the start when GSP took him down in the first 20 seconds and then passed guard in the first two minutes (or so, I can't remember).

the back hand was sweet. However, I was surprised....St. Pierre only tried two spinning back kicks, both of them in the second round. When Fitch was obviously tired I thought he might try to nail him with one in the fourth or fifth.

    At any rate, awesome match.

Man, it sucked seeing Manny get murdered like that...but he asked for it running straight in like he did, oh well.
Brock Lesner is the truth. Seriously, give him 2 years of hard core training and some quality opponents and he could threaten Fedor...maybe not beat him, but threaten.
Muerta got demolished, Cummo got dominated. Fitch got dominated in a way that I did not quite forsee. Ok event.
