BigE, I've been asking all over the TFC facebook page for information on side-games. I would love to run VF at TFC.

Here's the thing guys, every time we plan an VF tournament NO one shows up but a few people and that in turns leaves me feeling but for the few players that did show up.

So I need the full support of the VF community for me to make this happen.

I ran the VF side tournament at Final Round this year, thanks to the graciousness of Shin Blanka . Between me posting notifications here at VFDC, SRK, FreeStepDodge, Facebook, and Twitter, we had a really good turnout -- around twenty-five entrants for a game that was not a main game without actual Final Round advertising (because it was a side tourney, of course) or sponsors backing things up. From my understanding, comparing numbers to all the other side tournaments at FR XVI, VF was on the higher end. We actually would have had 30+, but people wanted to show up late and we had to turn them away.... [ =___=]

Not to mention that alot of players who, unfortunately, weren't able to make it, couldn't go because they had to choose between Final Round and Sega Cup, which happened to be two weeks apart. Since SEGA Cup was more-or-less the VF EVO this year, it'd make sense for VF players deciding between the two to go to that tournament instead. So honestly we should have had EVEN MORE players.

Players included Justin Wong, Ryan Hart, Heaton of the Soul Calibur community, Lopedo and Blakula of the DOA community, and a few international players. Many of our VFDCers showed up, including Shag, Drift, Trykt, and more. And best of all, at least half of the players were brand new faces, which was very encouraging.

So, TBH I think it's a little unfair to completely write off the VF community for a tournament. Give us a chance. The FR XVI VF tournament was an absolute blast for everyone. Things worked really well for Final Round this year, and many of us are looking forward to the Fall Classic, since it's pretty much a central east coast location.

Tournaments held at events like these are KEY for the growth of the VF community. :)

The uncertainty of having VF or not is why I choose NYG over The Fall Classic personally. I can't go to both for financial reasons but I will put some consideration into it next time around since it isn't that far away from where I am in Northern VA. It looks to be a very fun event though. I wanted to get some offline matches with Blackstar too damn it I missed my chance at Sega Cup too oh well. Hopefully there is VF there at some point then I might put some serious consideration into going there I have never been to NC before personally.

NYG8 and TFC are kinda far apart, like a month. But if people are flying I can understand how it might be kinda tuff. September is going to be a very no-VF playing time for me since I start a new school program then, so this will be a no-go. Not cuz I don't want to go, but I gotta keep priorities in order.

For those players that are thinking of going BigE could you give us an idea of what the set-ups will be, what kinda stream time we're looking at, when in the schedule you might place the event (two days or one? Big stage for top 4 or all on the side?). Appreciate you reaching out and I'm hoping for a nice VF turnout.

I'm hype about TFC. FR16 was my first taste of a tourney setting and I enjoyed it greatly. I wish I had done better, but that's what training is for. TFC will be about a 6 hour drive for me. I have no problem with that.

I'll try to pull a few others with me if I can. The only way the VF community will grow is if we can have tournaments/side-tournaments to even go to. Online is getting boring (especially PSN).

I'm set and ready for TFC. HYPE!

I've been to the venue before, there is plenty of space. They ran a 10k anime con in the building.

I'd say, realistically you can expect at least 5 folks from NC to show, maybe as much as 8-9.

I wouldn't be flying to any of these places NY or NC as close as I am to both of them. If I go to both NYG8 and TFC, the cost of hotel and traveling to and from both places in such a short time period could bankrupt me potentially. I don't want to do what I did at Sega Cup and overspend especially when I just recovered enough to go to events again. I have a life to consider too aside from gaming and I don't get alot of money monthly either. Unfortunately sacrifices have to be made when reality has to be taken into account as well. Good luck to whoever goes there just the same

TFC will be fairly cheap. STuff in NC isn't that expensie, nothing like SoCal or Vegas.

I will be running a side-tourney at TFC. The organizers said they have space for anyone who wants to run a game. Where that space will be I don't know. I'm finishing up the build for my new recording/streaming machine. It should be ready for TFC. I could of course use any extra equipment people are willing to share: consoles, monitors, headsets, commentators, etc. I haven't made an event thread because I have no further details on the venue.

We decided to stick with PS3, same as at Final Round. Blackstar, would you also be willing to bring that MG102c and an extra headset? The mixer is the last piece I need for commentary, but I don't know if I'll be able to get one in time (streaming gear/pc is expensive! ^,^)
