Jacky is very easy to learn in general, but Lau is also a good option since he depends on a few staple moves and some basic float combos. The biggest difference from Tekken IMHO is the power of throws... they can't interrupt attacks but are great for punishing blocked/whiffed stuff, since they do a good chunk of damage.

I still think pressing a button to block is kind of limiting and stupid...

to me having to hold one direction to block is being limited imo...........the block button lets you hit directions other than back, when trying to attack after blocking.

well actually tekken blocking system lets you do that as well..

I personally prefer an auto blocking system than a button pushing one.

Button blocking is where is at. You can guard cancel and buffer which is vital for high levels or play. So even when you are being defensive you can be preparing an assault. Genius.

I've to pressed guard button, release it and press other button to attack. Isn't that unneccessary?

VF without guard button will be better hehehe...

As Adio said, the guard button in VF allows for things you can't do if you have to hold back, such as:
    1) guard cancel certain moves, useful if you change your mind, want to toy with the opponent, or do stuff like iaigeri
    2) buffer attacks, e.g. input the motions while still blocking so you can execute them faster after releasing guard.

    1) Guard cancelling could be implement without a guard button too. It just depends on wheather they want it or not. U could hold back while in an attack move to guard cancel. So simple.

    2) What is it so great with attack buffering? Isn't good attack timing involve more skills and more logic like in real life u need to control the timing to let's say punch someone. Anyway, i think attack buffering reward more to ppl with good strategic than ppl with good skills and timing.

Got my roots back in Capcom and SNK like most.
But besides Bushido Blade, my 3D fighter of choice has always been Virtua Fighter.
