You guys are really biased to be honest. I mean it looks like none of you are experienced or even good at Tekken and its incarnates. I play both VF and Tekken and they're both completely different games. They may have similar concepts such as crushing etc and walls, but that doesn't mean the game play coincides, they're just concepts custom-made to the bead and butter of respective gameplay.
You's wanna talk about stealing from VF? How bout VF tech rolls, joystick input sidesteps? This is silly, you're all just biased.

It's hard for any company to create something in the fighting game genre that's 100% unique whether it's VF, Tekken, or anything else. I play both games also. That makes me Superman just like you, OMG!

Karate Champ came first anyway, so all this talk about "stealing" is ridiculous.

Can't we all agree to just hate on DOA? /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif j/k

Broken, you say you "play VF", but I'd like to correct that to "played VF" ... you should play more dammit! How about this Friday night? /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

the thing is, i am good at tekken. i like playing t3 and tag as its fun.

but i know deep down if there was only 1 3d fighting game it would have to be vf!

maybe you should ask tekken champ ryan hart what he thinks.

also im sure vf got its tech rols from fighting vipers

anyways i still see this VF vs Tekken as the old Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat thing.

Except that you can actually hold Tekken tournaments without stabbing your eyes out. That's a pretty big difference.

Can we all just chillax here. I don't think that this conversation is going anywhere anytime so we should just either back off and go our respective ways of either Tekken or VF, or we go all out on each other like a bunch of bloody amateurs. Everyone please just CHILLAX, I am so tired of this never neding feud with Tekken and VF.

summah long time dude. How are u ..?
Myke feels abandoned by the staple VF players who've jumped ship to T5. You can take me to the trough but you can't make me drink. I don't play vf anymore since no one else plays that's why i'm still at sub standard level.

well that's because the water looks so murky. and at first it tastes a little awkward, but after you get used to it, you understand that it's the best ****ing stuff in the world!

If my comment of Tekken stealing stuff from VF has mudded up the water here, I apologize for the comment that I made. Some of you cearly didn't see that smily face at the end or something. =P

Back to questions about the game. Has anyone played with Lee, Bruce or Julia enough to know if they actually got really reworked or are they still the same characters withe like one or two new moves? I really liked bruce and lee, I just thought their move list was shallow. I got high hopes!

I use Julia as one of main main chars in Tag and at first found her to feel quite different in T5. I'm sure SlimAdey could go into more details on this as I haven't had much chance to play the game properly but she did feel different to me, definately, especially in her float combos.

As for Lee, I've seen and heard enough to know he's a fairly strong char...one of the regulars in the T5 group in this part of the country uses him very well I hear (Kaworu on Tekken Zaibatsu).

Not sure about Bruce but SlimAdey's impression is that he's not really as strong as Tag Bruce.

On a random note, to players in America, what are the T5 cab sticks like? Over here we have these awfully stiff black "bat" sticks which take some getting used too...and the buttons are strangely spaced too. What are they like around other places in the world?

The last cabinet I played on had sanwa sticks and buttons. I think they're all like that for T5 in the U.S. now.

    Ugh that's so dissapointing.

I mean, first we get the card system, the first time a card system has been used in an arcade beat em up in the UK, which is really good (even tho they do expire after 500 matches) but then we have nasty sticks to play the game on up and down the country.

Probably sounds like I'm just being fussy but for me it's so annoying to play one form of Tekken on a good stick (Hori for example) and then have to re-learn things in the arcade in able to use characters with a joystick that feels more like a gear stick. I mean my local arcade has Tag in on Hori style sticks, yet the new game on the block has nasty sticks to use.

The first time one of my mates begin playing T5 with Kazuya, he managed to cut down the side of his hand (between little finger and wrist) trying to get godfists out!
