I'm not complaining Sal. We all knew how much you love VF2 and you did show us some sick shit. In the past, if someone really wanted to play on a TV setup, we'd let each other know. YO, I GOT NEXT! /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I favor the best of 3 matchup as well. Another thing I would like to try is to have an RR setup. Not for ranking purposes but just for the fact that everyone gets to play against one another. Their have been many times I thought to myself after we leave, "Hey, I dont think I fought (insert name) today" and felt a bit empty about it. I'm not sure if that is possible due to time or if even everybody is gun-ho about it but this is something I'll notice personally for my well-being.

If you guys do RR you really should keep track. that way you could always have seasons and mix some retro tourny stuff without spending hardly any time setting up. all of the seeds are already there.

all work and no play makes Vith a dull boy. Man i still havent played FT yet. I think I am gonna come this saturday, so i'll proably miss everyone but in the meanwhile i think I'm gonna pimp my Tekken Tournament. God please forgive me! If any of yall play T5 your welcome to give them a taste of the VF madskilz . . . please don't chuck vegetables at me.

Greetings from Tokyo... just arrived like 3 hours ago. After about 8 months of no VF I randomly found myself at an arcade in Hong Kong so I got a couple of games in. At 13-21, I'll consider it a successful day considering the whooping I expected. Most were against players with no cards but I managed to eke out 2-9 versus a named rank Wolf (I couldn't actually read the rank name though but definitely above 10th dan). He had some other characters which made me 7-14 against him alone leaving 6-7 against the rest... you won't hear me complaining about that. Other good news, 3-2 against a scrubby Pai. I mean, really... what kind of fool plays Pai?

If I happen to stumble upon an arcade, I'll try to squeeze in a few matches for NYC. If anyone knows where there are arcades in Tokyo, I'll try to check back on this thread to find the locations.

- Haven't seen Akira or Shun (or any VF) plushies
... but I'll be back in Tokyo Sunday night. See if I can find anything then.

Before I ran out of time. I had nothing for Vanessa... the Kage got close a lot but doing stupid stuff.

Towards the end I was definitely noticing more focused play on my part. The 6th Dan Akira really disappointed... all 3 losses were 5 rounds, something didn't feel right. Maybe he stole the card.

Alright everyone listen up...

I hate to post this with such short notice. This coming Sunday, September 18th, we would like to do a team battle tournament. If everything goes well, we would like to make this a bi-weekly Sunday tourny.

The teams will not be random, because of the risk of getting to many strong players on the same team. Yea, yea I know we could just do another random drawing but that just wastes a lot of time. So.... I have drawn up 4 teams on my own that I think are balanced and gives everyone a chance to win. Check out the 4 teams below and feel free to give some input on wether or not you think the teams are balanced.

I tried to include everyone who has been showing up for the last month of session on Thursday. I also tried to create teams that didn't have 2 or more of the same character. If I forgot anyone and you would like to be included in the tourny just show up on Sunday and we will assign you to a team. We have not decided on a time yet, because we understand that it's kind of short notice. However, we would like to do this fairly early on Sunday afternoon... 1PM - 5PM at the latest. Afterwards maybe we can all go out and have some dinner. We would also like to video record this. So anyone who has a digi cam and can help out with this, your effort would be greatly appreciated. We are also looking into trying to get the right devices to do a direct capture from the machine and use Andy's DVD recorder, and look into maybe hooking up a microphone to capture crowd reaction which i think would be cool. But... to be realistic I wouldn't bet on most of these things happening because it's short notice. In the future though we would like to do everything that I mentioned above.

Please feel free to let everyone know what time would be best for everyone to make this event happen. Also feel free to give input on wether or not the teams are of equal strength. I gave Adam and Kazu's team 3 peeps, because either one of them on a good day can take down most of the teams by themselves. So it's nothing personal guys. What can I say, you two are strong. Also READ THIS AND UNDERSTAND.
