In thinking thinking over the meeting of the Pai players, the results are fairly simple. Eric's Pai wins hands down. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I've played him a couple times and have almost consistantly been outclassed. Eric excels at adding up damage quickly, efficiently and worst of all, he's quite cosistantly at it. Also he uses throws much MUCH better than I me. I've noticed recently that I rely an awful lot on striking attacks and don't take advantage of low-punch major counters like I should.

How was Rodney's performance with Akira on friday? We locked horns about two weeks ago with me leaving almost utterly decimated. I was very impressed and found his Akira to be very mobile with a fine grasp of all the standard lifebar devouring combos.

Oh and as for you tianyuan2k2; I'll try to be around on tuesday. I have to see this Wolf combo of yours (just hope i don't have to see it the hard round-ending way...). That Jacky of yours is going down as soon as I remember how to play Aoi, but until then prepare to taste dashing elbow. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Shag, we had already played about 8 matches against each other so I figured I'd try something you hadn't seen in a while. Good series of games that day.

Didn't catch the names of everyone but there were two guys I haven't played much I got to talk to, Monty, who had some pretty tricky Lion action and then Jose, who had a Shun game a LOT of people struggled with. Nice to have the added dose of character diversity too.

Later on when the crowd thinned, Tian hit me twice with his Wolf move in the same match, quite embarassing to get mauled like that, good thing not many people were still around to see it though.

Tian, the other Eric (Rheinaoi) primarily uses Akira now but he's got a tough Aoi and has a good flow with his Pai. The kicker is that it seems like he can read minds. Watch out for crazy reversals. Getting regular practice against him and Will (vulcan) has helped me a lot.

Haha... Rheinaoi will never beat my Jacky!!! Ever!!! As long as AM2 refuses to tune down Jacky, the "yeah~" will always drive Rheinaoi crazy everytime he hears that! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Anyway, I just came back from CTF, those buttons were still good when I left. And I did some combo trainings with Akira and Wolf. Then I began to use Pai, and Pai, and Pai, and Pai, and... Now I get a little feeling about the way ELiusive play. I will use her tonight and see if I am really getting the idea.

Today is a nice day! Come, everyone! Come!

Rheinaoi, haha, your aoi beat my Jacky once, YEAH~

Why, Eric? Why? Everytime you see my Jacky, your combo is often missed. Are you trying to hide your true skill, huh /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif My crouch light punch> throw is not that scary, right? I want to see your Akira fight my Jacky like you did to that Lei Fei player. Your [3][3]+[P] > [P] >[4][6]+[P] >[2][4][6]+[P] is fun to see! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This Friday I probably not going to CTF because I have a final review, but I will go next week! Next time my Jacky will be more flashier than before, hopefully... Until then, YEAH~

Woo hoo~ Today I met a Goh player from Boston in CTF! His Goh is very impressive! His reversals countered my Jacky's punchs like crazy, which reminds me those akiras... Actually , his Akira is quite good too. Unfortunately he had a bus to catch, I only played with him for about twenty minutes. And his Goh ate Wolf's wacky combo once /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Sal, your combo rocks! I think I will go to CTF tomorrow night around 9... Hopefully I will meet someone there.

Ahh, so I see you've met Ticky. He's a Boston regular with us back home. I'd just like to point out that I'm EXTREMELY jealous of the scene NYC has for evo right now, reallly....

I'm an arcade enthusiast at heart and I enjoy the excitement that is often accompanied by other players, people watching, etc. - nothing can compare.

For this I think I'm gonna have to come visit you guys (Shang? wanna come buddy??) and have some good ol fashion arcade fun, not in someone's home (although that's kick ass too /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif ) but right at the arcade - the way vf was meant to be enjoyed. Later guys.

I'll be there to get trampled by the mob of vfer's. Its great to be in NYC.

TianYuan2k2.... it looks like I still couldn't remember how to play Aoi on tuesday, but at least Jeffry and especially Akira managed to do some real damage in spite of the many missed combos /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The Akira combos missed a lot against your Jacky because for some strange reason I end up on the 2p side often where its harder for me to buffer CD's in. Its probably a psychological thing as well; I just didn't feel like doing a Yoho against you most of the time and instead seek out as many ways to stop /versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif/punish /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif/reverse /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif/sabaki /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif/evade/DESTROY /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif that low punch or high punch counter into throw game you seem so adept at. Anyway, my Aoi is still looking for you... and that string of victories with her against your Jacky is going up past two...damn you and that little Jacky of yours too. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Come on, Eric, you don't tell people you can't crouch dash from 2p! And I'm shocked that your Aoi didn't live up to the build up. Then again, it's been a long time since I've seen you break her out. I'm sure you'll shake off the rust soon.

Anyways, I'm not sure when but I should be able to make it tonight. Hope to see all at CTF.

Rheinaoi, why? Why dont you tell me you are uncomfortable with 2p? I LIKE TO USE 2P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I use 2P for a long time! Hey! I remember that I was the 2P player that night until the Lei Fei player showed up. Your combo simply missed whenever you heard my lil Jacky yelled "yeah~" /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif So my suggestion for you is to crush Jacky before he goes crazy. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Another great Friday training session has come and gone at the CTF dojo. Too many great matches to mention, but I appreciated them all ,win or lose. It was even a learning experience being a spectator. The comp was top notch once again.

I was there yesterday too. I can't learn anything with 10 top tier players around. I need some home sessions. I'm just making to rotate longer with me half tier Sarah. I didn't wanna make you guys have to wait longer then you guys had to. I can host home sessions if you guys wouldn't mind coming to the Bronx. I know Phlex would come for sure.

We first went to Mc'Donalds on Bowery because Liu had to use the facilities and then we walked back to CF and hung out by the entrance. We knew it was time to leave when Sam pulled the gates down in the front of the building./versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif It got really cold too but none of us didnt want to stop talking.

    Re: Friday

Vulcun beat me to it, friday was a great turnout. There was impressive play to spare from everyone who came.

KonJou, That was amazing Jacky play early on. I've seen and been hit with all those combos before and I think by the third win I had your flow chart memorized, but somehow that just didn't matter anyway. You kept your nerve, poured on the offense and stayed calm. It felt like you won those matches on pure psychological power. And as always, your Akira remains a ridiculously mobile monster that's fun to watch and play against.

Adrian; I really wish I had gotten to play against you in the middle of that win streak you had with Wolf and Jeffry. You played with a patience that rivals Vulcun's.

Smurfu; Nice play, especially with all those stance dependent combos. Getting SpODed was a nice experience... I'll remember to return the favor next time we play /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif It was cool following up Konjou's Akira and yours with mine. Its always great when there's nothing on the machine but Akira in all his badass glory -WHOOT!-

Ghettoshun; You're sick defense was still giving me headaches. I didn't know you played Lei and Lau, but then again it seems like all you really need for a win streak is five or so good special moves, and maybe two throws with Yomi making up for everything else. Nice comments about initiative and tech-rolling too.

Tianyuan; /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif what else can I say? The list of victims for your Wolf combo keeps growing. Your Jacky play felt pretty much the same in that its very effective and very frustrating. I'm just glad I got one commanding win on that Jacky with Aoi even though it was your last game of the night (I think...). Here's to hoping Aoi is on her way to many more wins like that /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Elusive; I respect a player who can consistantly make me feel like a total idiot /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Very solid Pai play, great combos (well as good as it gets for Pai anyway...) and some great mix-ups when you gain momentum. You're great at forcing those really painful guessing games. Its gotten to the point where I'll stay down on the ground and gladly eat that ground punch.

Shag; Defense. defense, defense and being certain that something really painful was coming to punish stupid mistakes was the theme of most of my matches against you. I hate Goh and his shoulder ram /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif...

Vulcun; Wow, you get the award for patience. That was a great performance with Jeff at the end of the night. If ever there was a case where pure experience wins the match those victories certainly showed it. Whatever you got hit with didn't matter and you simply went on doing damage until the opponent went down. Those combos you pulled off were just plain screwy...but they worked. I was watching the opponents' life-bar after you got them anywhere near a wall, or rather I should say, what was left of the opponents' life-bar.

Well, that's all I have time for and all i can remember off the top of my head. But again, great show everyone.

VF is still alive and kickin' in NYC -WHOOT!-
