I forget how confusing the streets of Chinatown can be. I used to get lost years ago and I know some people that still get misplaced trying to get around. Good heads up Lui. We need to hang out and get some games in again. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hopefully next Friday we'll be able to catch up. It's been a crazy summer, I think I've only been in town twice and I'm gone again this weekend. Good stuff, but it's killing VF time.

 

Hey guys.... it was fun last night at CTF. I was the lei-fei player. Sorry my performance wasn't all that great.. it was my first time playing vf against anyone and also I wasn't used to the sticks. Well, no excuses cuz I still got a lot to learn but I'll most def. be training hard.

I had tooo much fun though, and that's never a bad thing. Thanx.

I had fun tonight though it was a short night cuz the damn kick button on P2 side stopped working. Shag, it was fun getting beat up by your Goh. I'll have to get you back next time.

Dem and Eric returned to play some games, always great to see "new" players get back into it. Eric contiuned to play on the side with no kick with Akira and got 19 wins! /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

heh heh. I only told you the juciy part. Dem and I were playing and the kick button failed on him. He forfeits and gives me the match.The crowd of 4-5 players wanders off after dicovering the news.

Eric, (who hasn't been to CF in quite sometime) doesn't care and challenges me. I decided to make it fair and tell him I won't use my kick button. I'm already on the machine with Goh. I somehow win even though limiting myself. /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif He plays again and beats me. I don't continue realizing Akira can do many great moves w/o kick (yoho, sde, sgplm, byakko!!! /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)

But there also a player there who I haven't met till that day, a Jacky player. Who decided to challenge Eric. He also abided by the "no kick" rule. I think Eric got most of his wins on him. Plus there was a Shun player who just wasn't good at all that Eric used for combo practice. Without a kick button.... Eric finally lost to the Jacky player. That guy was estatic when he won too. He got an applause from the remaing crowd that was watching.

 

3rd week: I used to go to CTF before to play tekken, then stopped going cuz the scene died in NY, but one thing's for sure. The scene never felt like it did last night. It feels good to be respected as opposed to not being taken seriously cuz you're a noob or whatever. Shit, most times I didn't even have to put a coin down and people who did wouldn't cut me off if they knew they'd be playing twice before me. Too good.

Anyway, Shag and Eric, it was a pleasure to play you guys again last night. Shag, your defense is tough to get around and Eric, man I love how offensive your Akira is. I kept falling for the techroll setup cuz I didn't realize what throw/hit would lead to it. I'm gonna have to do a few things in free training too cuz I didn't know which moves gave you advantage/disadvantage.

My lei-fei finally managed to win a few times. Feels good to know I accomplished something and I'm starting to get used to the sticks more. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

 

Most of the VF players at CF are very respectable. We understand that the game is esoteric and welcome any new serious players. They are hard to come by these days. Hope to continuing seeing you. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I still think its a shame only a smidgen show up anymore. Before the game came out for PS2, the veterans would come out full force. Honestly, I would be happy if they're was one extra day the NYC VF'ers would gather up, we tried Wed's months ago, but it never panned out. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif
