That IGN review was really pitiful though... they guy sounds like he never played a fighting game in his life. He mentioned that the best things (most innovative) about the game are: 1) the lack of rounds (ala Killer Instinct) and 2) pole-swingin'! Other notable features of the game are (paraphrase) "more spoken dialogue than any other fighter." He complains that, if you get hit by the first hit of a combo, there is no way to block or escape the rest of the hits. My take on that was, "That's the whole point of a combo." His other (minor!) complaint was that, if you pick certain characters on certain backgrounds, the frame rate gets cut almost in half. But it doesn't affect the gameplay, I mean, fighting games don't rely on precise timing or anything. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I downloaded some insider clips, and the animation is just pathetic. Prefight animations are amazingly lifelike, but in the game, the characters look like stop motion animated puppets (if you've seen Evil Dead 2, the "dancing girlfriend" scene looks a lot like pretty much any of the female characters fighting.)

I was kind of looking forward to this one, but it looks like it's no good. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I just read that review and it was pretty lame.
Where the hell do they find these so-called "gamers"??
Do they simply find anyone who can type?
