    I know what you're saying Optimus. It really does seem like every thing that goes over your head will just cross you up. No matter where you jumped from. Unelss your character has a crappy cross up move.

    It makes it pretty hard to decide which way to block a lot of times.

    If Guile lost Health..... HE must've became stronger offensively.. Other than that.. Fuck this game.

    Crouch LP advantage on hit increased by 1 frame (+4F → +5F)
    Crouch MK hitbox and hurtbox expanded forward
    Reverse Spin Kick (near opponent 4 or 6+HK) hitbox expanded downward
    Guile High Kick (3+HK) hitbox expanded downward
    L, M, H and EX Flash Kick invincibility time extended by 1 frame
    L, M, and H Flash Kick → EX Focus Cancel → Forward Dash now -5F on block
    L, M, H and EX Sonic Boom take counter-hit damage on frames 1-20
    Flash Explosion (UC1) start-up reduced by 1 frame 2 frames (7F → 6F 5F; damage reduced by 60 (510 → 450);
    2nd Flash Kick start-up now slower, less likely to whiff on high air opponents ; invincibility time reduced by 4 frames (1-10F → 1-6F); if opponent is behind on activation, corrects to face the opponent

    Seems to me like they made him better all around. Only thing he got hit with was the 50 less points of health! -5 on flash kick fadc and the CH when getting hit while throwing a boom.

    All they did was change hitboxes and fix things that shouldve been fixed on the first place. For all the things they fixed they nerfed other shit in return to negate that.. Other characters received buffs that are incredible.. Him.. Ho hum.. and that playing dead shit is corny lol. Guile. Was no joke in Vanilla Super.. Capcom didnt like that.. Smh.. they seen how Diago handled Rufus and nerfed him.

    @Trick yes being that damage scaling sets in later.. Life leads changes strats. Drastically in this game with this keep away character

    Uhh, the only nerf on that list is is the vitality decrease, everything else is a buff. They actually finally fixed the most glaring problem Guile has ever had in this crappy game; His inability to do anything against crossups because flashkick doesn't auto correct. Now, with the reduced wakeup hurtbox, he can anti-air bad crossup attempts either with flashkick or U1, and U1 will hit more reliably and do more damage to boot too. While pretty much marginal like most frame changes in this version, the c.LP frame buff is good because it makes that shitty c.LP, c.MP link a little bit easier, and extending the hitbox on c.MK means he can poke a bit better now depending on how bad the hurtbox on it is. The rest of the stuff seems pretty whatever, 1f more invicibility to flashkick is just whatever, it worked fine as a normal AA before, and the -5 after FADC is pretty much universal.

    Nevertheless he's going to be balls anyway, but atleast they tried I guess.

    In the end. It's still SF. Another fighting game with dumb ass shit in it. You just gotta pick a character/characters you like and run with it.

    And no of it wont matter.. If they really cared.. his jumping HK animation should go back to the old 2D one..

    Bottom line Yomi.. Vanilla Super Guile was feared. This one still wont be.

    Well. Looks like the free SF4AE is going to be free on the 15th instead since Dark Souls is up for free.. Word was, AE was going to be first in line since the Ultra SF DLC is about to be released.

    I'm still kind of torn between getting the DLC upgrade, or just waiting for the full game. 2 months is a long time to wait for something that's already available, but in DLC form. And I'm definitely not buying it twice.. *sigh* I should just go with my gut and wait while playing VF in the meantime.

    Extending the window for getting a counter-hit against Guile's sonic booms is technically a nerf, because it allows the opponent to get more damage for making the correct decision. Counter-hit combos in SF4 don't quite have the variance of VF minor-/major-counter combos, but they do allow for more damaging combos otherwise not possible on normal hit.

    For all your pessimistic predictions about the character, what they fail to take into account is what makes a character in the SF4 iterations good. It's not just priority on normals or anti-crossup options. What really makes good characters good in SF4 is the ability to use safe hit-confirms to convert into ultras for good damage in proportion to the resources (i.e. meter, "revenge" or otherwise) spent, and that the ultra gets a full "animation", meaning that your ultra will never be cut short because it doesn't hit in specific circumstances. Part of the reason why Sagat was so good initially is because he had various ways to hit-confirm into his ultra which dealt relatively consistent damage in varied situations.

    The most significant reason why Guile is placed so low on tier lists is because his playstyle doesn't benefit from the system(s) of SF4 as much as other characters. Guile ultimately has not been made worse. In fact, Guile has largely the same tools he used to in Super Turbo. The problem is that even though Guile can zone and keep opponents out, the weight--the significance--of any single correct guess/decision is far more insignificant than previous iterations simply by virtue of how much less damage these guesses do in proportion to landing those big combos. Guile's style of play simply doesn't mesh with the prevailing strategies of SF4 as well as other characters. The game is not unwinnable with Guile by any means, but it's certainly more work than someone like Ryu.

    I finally managed to get enough change to get Ultra on 360. I don't know if I will double dip like I did with FS but for now things look promising based on what I see so far.
