Are you interested in playing a long set on stream with commentary? ANYONE is invited, skill level is NOT a factor, and new players are encouraged to join in!

Make a post and let us know you want to join!

We want more people to commentate! ANYONE is invited to commentate, whether you are a vet or a new player, or if you wanna commentate or just laugh and joke with the players! During or before the sets begin, use Skype and send a message or friend request to 'blackstar2478' to join in on the call! Limited space in the XBL room will also be made available for those who want to use XBL Chat!

How it works is like this:

Reply on this thread with your gamertag, the date you (and your opponent, if applicable) are available, location you play from, and what you would like to do, and you will be placed on a list of 'interested players' on the opening post (this post).

    For example:
    or like this
NOTE: If you have an opponent in mind, make sure that THEY REPLY IN THE THREAD TOO, OR THE REQUEST WON'T COUNT.

Also, NOTE: FT10's take FOREVER, so only especially hype matches get to do those.

IF YOU WANT A PRE-RAW INTERVIEW DONE, IT IS DONE BY REQUEST ONLY FROM NOW ON.
So, in other words, if you want an interview, just ask and I'll do it. If you're a spectator, and IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE GET INTERVIEWED, just ask me as well, and i'll try and arrange one with them if they want.

If there is a disconnection (DC) during a RAW set, neither player will win the match where the DC occurs (unless BLACKSTAR or designated person says otherwise).

Instead, both players will play the next match by first allowing each player to willingly give up the same number of rounds they had lost in the previous DC'd match, before playing out the rest of the match.

3 UNINTENTIONAL DC's are allowed in a RAW set. Any further DC's will result in the immediate end of the RAW set and a DRAW(can be overruled, if both participating players express that they wish to continue).

ANY 1 DC DEEMED INTENTIONAL by BLACKSTAR or designated person will result in the IMMEDIATE disqualification and loss of the entire RAW set for the offending player. A subsequent BAN from participation in future RAW events may also occur.

Sure, why not. Just see if your opponent is cool with it, and both of you guys let me know that that is what you want to do.

    Short answer: NO.

Long answer: Unless you have a good reason where its ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to do RAW on a Sunday, then NO. Even if you do, note that we will work with you, but nothing will be guaranteed. I have my own life to live, after all. That being said, if you want to have a RAW match, but can't do Sundays, let us know here on the RAW thread, and we will work with you.

I can almost hear Mean Gene's ring announcement: 'Here is your winner... and NEEEEW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION, ...PReP!!'

Let me be the first to congratulate @PReP on winning the 'Intercontinental VF Championship' in our FT10, 10-07! GGs!

I'm happy it wasn't a blowout either way but I'm really disappointed at how much stuff I dropped in our set, and how long it took me to get back in the game. No doubt watching the set later will be painful but it'll expose the parts of my game that need help.

A big thanks to @BLACKSTAR for streaming and @Kamais_Ookin for coming along to commentate, and also to the guys who tuned in.

      And to my bros... :(

Thanks back to you for doing this with me.
It was a real intense thing, and probably good practice for those nerves.

There was some shit missed here and there for both of us, i agree,
but we did what best we could and it could have been a lot worse.

I second the notion of looking at it and learning, i know i have some stupid shit
to improve in my own play.

You do not need to crap on yourself for nothing though, you put up a hell of a fight,
i am lucky i managed to survive long enough to annoy the hell out of you in stylish red, green and yellow!

As you lost, you will have to buy me a sumo-sized sushi-meal-box thingie if i ever make it out to visit you! :)

Thanks a real bunch to @BLACKSTAR and to @Kamais_Ookin For commentating!

Good Games for real Mr Modelah,
      - our resident awesome Content Creator and Translator of Japanese!

Alright so you 2 play at that time, guess there won't be any Raw this Sunday then.

Congrats PReP for winning a FT10 without landing a single combo.

      *match ends*

Blackstar: PReP takes the belt! 10 - 7.
      Kamais: 10-7 *sigh*
Blackstar: Right. Congratulations PReP. I'll go ahead and send them a message.
Kamais: *laughs* Godoku needs to take notes.

      *both lol*

Looks like we need to sticky RibX's simplified vanessa combo list thread and maybe insist on the Taka specifics more.

Modelah, your combos were on point, you gotta work on your punishing now, as Blackstar and Kamais mentioned in the stream.

In fact, good commentary guys. Vanessa is hard to commentate.

Typical advice to deal with lie down stance, from less to more risky:

      i) ECDTEG to stomach. as steelbaz suggsted mid-stream
ii) jump back. Remember, when you land after a jump you're considered crouching so the catch throw can't hurt you either.
iii) fast floor-scraping mid. This depends on the character and the move used to transition to IP. You just have to remember that the fastest attacks from lie down are 20f.

For example, i saw PReP do DS slide into IP > shenanigans. DS [1][K][+][G] NH > (or recovery hit) gives +4. However, in this scenario, a 16f floor scraping mid like taka's [K] will (theoretically) beat everything since it would land simultaneously (in 16+4 = 20f) while doing more damage (24 vs 23 for DS IP [K]).

I'm mentioning Taka's [K] because i've seen it hit shun's lie down stance. You have to spend half an hour in the dojo vs Vanessa to test what are your character's floor scraping moves that connect if she lies in IP.

For reference, frame data on IP transitions:

      DS [1][K][+][G] NH = +4
      DS [1][K][+][G] CH = +8
DS [9][K][+][G] blocked = +5 (NH and CH knock you down)
[4][P][+][K][+][G] techroll = depends on your combo ender

I have a photo shoot on Sunday that is likely wrapping up around 7:30 PM. What time does this normally start on Sundays?

Thanks, BlackStar and GE, for sharing this with us. Your Sarah and Shun are very fun to watch, especially because those are two of the more rarely seen characters in older VF2 footage like the Beat-Tribe/Athena Cups, etc. Looking forward to more! :)

I really enjoyed playing but I think Blackstar and I were playing under more lag than we had previously. It made for some "bad" moments, but it was otherwise a lot of fun. I wouldn't have had to jet as early as I did but Sundays are tough.

If VF2 experiences any kind of renaissance I'll need to pick up a stick because while my hitbox project was fun it is not any kind of way to play VF2. I always feel like I fighting the inputs. And I certainly can't play Akira :(

Next time, maybe we can get a bunch of VF2 heads in there. Thanks for streaming, @BLACKSTAR ! I'll watch it today and see how clumsy it all looked.

I'd love to be able to get into one of the PSN lobbies sometime when you guys have these going down. I'm pretty rusty but would love to play this on a semi-regular basis again if possible, especially since I've got a small glimmer of hope of getting some local players to jump into the game as well FINALLY.

I was a little nervous for sure, but mostly it was me just being me, lol. My own stupidity amazes me sometimes, and next time I'll try not to Taka-jump into rising mid kicks so often , lmao.

I totally forgot, but HEY, @shadowmaster , when do you want your RAW set to be?

Same for you @ghabstopr , when would you like to play?
