Are you interested in playing a long set on stream with commentary? ANYONE is invited, skill level is NOT a factor, and new players are encouraged to join in!

Make a post and let us know you want to join!

We want more people to commentate! ANYONE is invited to commentate, whether you are a vet or a new player, or if you wanna commentate or just laugh and joke with the players! During or before the sets begin, use Skype and send a message or friend request to 'blackstar2478' to join in on the call! Limited space in the XBL room will also be made available for those who want to use XBL Chat!

How it works is like this:

Reply on this thread with your gamertag, the date you (and your opponent, if applicable) are available, location you play from, and what you would like to do, and you will be placed on a list of 'interested players' on the opening post (this post).

    For example:
    or like this
NOTE: If you have an opponent in mind, make sure that THEY REPLY IN THE THREAD TOO, OR THE REQUEST WON'T COUNT.

Also, NOTE: FT10's take FOREVER, so only especially hype matches get to do those.

IF YOU WANT A PRE-RAW INTERVIEW DONE, IT IS DONE BY REQUEST ONLY FROM NOW ON.
So, in other words, if you want an interview, just ask and I'll do it. If you're a spectator, and IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE GET INTERVIEWED, just ask me as well, and i'll try and arrange one with them if they want.

If there is a disconnection (DC) during a RAW set, neither player will win the match where the DC occurs (unless BLACKSTAR or designated person says otherwise).

Instead, both players will play the next match by first allowing each player to willingly give up the same number of rounds they had lost in the previous DC'd match, before playing out the rest of the match.

3 UNINTENTIONAL DC's are allowed in a RAW set. Any further DC's will result in the immediate end of the RAW set and a DRAW(can be overruled, if both participating players express that they wish to continue).

ANY 1 DC DEEMED INTENTIONAL by BLACKSTAR or designated person will result in the IMMEDIATE disqualification and loss of the entire RAW set for the offending player. A subsequent BAN from participation in future RAW events may also occur.

Sure, why not. Just see if your opponent is cool with it, and both of you guys let me know that that is what you want to do.

    Short answer: NO.

Long answer: Unless you have a good reason where its ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to do RAW on a Sunday, then NO. Even if you do, note that we will work with you, but nothing will be guaranteed. I have my own life to live, after all. That being said, if you want to have a RAW match, but can't do Sundays, let us know here on the RAW thread, and we will work with you.

I'd rather keep it in Room match, because if not, other commentators will have to watch from stream, which is super-delayed. If I'm hosting (like I usually do for all RAW matches up until now), it won't matter too much anyway.

Does commentators matter for an under-card match? Even if you take streaming out of the equation, player matches is a much more smoother experience than room matches. I would imagine that having the best connection possible would have more importance than anything else, but I guess not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At the end of the day its about who's hosting. Call me out if I'm wrong but in Player Matches, hosting switches -- I'll host one match, and you'll host another, probably depending on who's player one. If you think about that, that's the reason why in our VF circuit matches yesterday, one match would be fine, but another literally unplayable.

Not to be boastful, but I pay for business class-internet, literally the same internet that local companies use in the area, the highest internet available in my area (until Fios or Google comes) and not normally available to the public (unless asked for, as you can see). We can both run speed tests if you like, but last I checked, my test turned out A or A- and said i was faster than 90% of the entire US, at 45 down and 11 or so up. Its 3x's higher than the average person's internet connection (avg US download speed: 15.55). Will your internet speed be comparable? If it is, great, then either can host, but player matches trading hosts every other round is still not a good idea, stability-wise, especially from our distances.

Needless to say, I feel confident about hosting, and if nothing else, room matches ensure that the person that creates the room stays as host.

And yes, commentators matter, this is RAW after all, otherwise, its just another recorded match. And again if you want to test my confidence in my connection versus yours, having 3 others in the room really doesnt make a difference compared to just the two players. But at the end of the day, the internet is the internet, and there's a huge host of factors other than ping and net speed to consider. Time of day, Net traffic and congestion around yours and my area, quality of pipeline, ISP, and hubs where the information travels through to reach each person are all weighted factors in how good connection speed is. If you're that worried about speed and speed alone, especially considering this is an online exhibition, rather than a full fledge tournament for money, all i can say is buy yourself a plane ticket to Georgia if you're that worried about speed.

Ok. Do you know who the commentators are?

      No.

Like any other week, RAW commentary is open to whoever wants to join, and again, it doesnt really matter if I'm hosting like I always do.

Rooms are drastically worse than players match, it'll be some laggy, disconnecting hell.

steelbaz, go away with your weak, untested conjectures, and come back when you actually start playing VF. You arent doing or saying anything constructive

LMFAO ran matches with KO the night before he had to play you, to help knock the rust off. I split my Sarah vs Jeff matches, Vane vs Jeff was really uneven cause feces balance in FS. I invited him to room after cause another friend was on playing FS, the room had worse connections by far. You'll get tooled either way so I understand the connection doesn't matter to you. Played offline Friday, online is crap, but sucked it up to give up Sarah XP to KO, payed off since he bopped you and now you're wanting laggy, salty rematches.

Rooms are shit on PSN it's well known, you disagree, who gives a fuck

Sorry, but PSN is trash. I can't even do Goh's k with having to go through coke cans, bottles and shit on PSN.

So the next match is Leftylizard vs. Shadowmaster. Who do you think will win?

Don't know much about Leftylizard so I got 10 @Tricky Bucks on my bro @shadowmaster.

Nothing against @leftylizard , but Shadow has competed in tourneys while Lefty is pure online warrior. I will also throw my Tricky bucks on @shadowmaster. My money is Lefty freezing up and backdashing everything. Not being comfortable with a up close fight.

There's a pretty significant difference between how rooms work on PSN vs. XBL. I haven't seen many issues with them on XBL, but they're unusable on PSN. So I think it'll be OK for the stream as long as it stays on XBL.

I would be OK with this.

Well, EVERYONE who plays on PSN knows that rooms are shit on it but Blackstar says otherwise so w/e, I don't play on XBL so I will have to adapt with the miasma of lag. Also, 17th it is then, I'm assuming under-card.

If anyone has vf2 and would like to do ft5 or ft10 let me know because I have vf2 and it can be part of raw if blackstart has vf2.
