It's great to have someone from our community in the loop like this. Personally I've been sceptical as to our ever seeing R on the consoles for quite some time, but at least we know our situation has reached the ears of some Sega big wig. Thanks L_A for voicing our opinions! It can't be emphasized how badly Sega understands the needs of its customers (especially VF enthusiasts) outside the scope of Japanese arcades. Sega needs a Jobs of their own to regain an honorable console track record. It's weird they're not more aware of the situation, and that only active participation by the community can draw their attention to the fact that outside Japan, VFR isn't really being played at all.

Personally, these A, B, C etc. versions are starting to annoy the hell out of me...seriously, R was a version of it's own in the VF5 timeline after A,B,C & D, so wtf?? Imo it'd also be time for Sega to streamline the VF line of development, and concentrate on making VF -6-, VF -7-, VF -8- etc. when they're ready, instead of creating these intermittent updates w. minor changes (although R is the farthest they've come since A to VF6). Seems really strange to me. If more time would be spent fixing these issues and concentrating on a more polished version, these "patches" would be obsolete (and console versions could be patched online anyway). I'm running out of breath here, but - just to silence the naysayers - I see no reason why different versions would have to mean a radical departure from previous game mechanic to "warrant" a new version being made. If, instead of just making changes for the sake of making changes, new versions meant new graphics, refined moves, balanced characters, then each new full version would be a better product than the last, and would truly warrant a new release say between two to three year intervals, not ad hoc A,B,Cs or whatever every six months.

Strayed a bit there, but these are things I wish Sega would hear too. I wish I was dictator of Sega for a day so I could force them to comply >:|

    I need more IP addresses!!!

Someone here needs to make an email worm that emails that shit to SEGA from every computer it infects!!!

Seriously, if one of you guys is that savvy, you should do it ASAP. Just have it be totally harmless, other than it sends one email, one time, to SEGA about VF5R for console, from every email address in your contacts list!

Then we probably WOULD get VF5R.

Shit, if I knew how to do it, I would have done it already...

If it actually worked, the result would be suspect...

"Ummm... we've received 345,212,349 emails today asking for VF5R on console."

Well, it needs to spread slowly so the number of requests increases exponentially but more slowly than one day...

The volume still wouldn't make sense. As cool as it sounds on the surface - letting the machines run wild is never a good thing.

Well maybe spamming could still work. The old "ok we'll do it if you just leave us alone!" tactic lol?

Probably best to play it safe.

send alot sure, but just dont make it look obvious. If they end up thinking its just one guy sending all the emails, it might have a negative impact.

Well I can't send anymore anyway. Might have to make a few n e-mail accounts and join a few libraries that have net access. If I can be arsed.

Exactly. For some reason I'm becoming optimistic about Sega not dropping the ball, so they could be looking at this thread.

Well, I've sent 3 Opinions asking for VF5R for the PS3 and/or 360 over the past couple of months, I'll send another one soon. (I'd send more (Like, hundreds), but I'm trying to avoid any IP filtering... if possible /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif )

I'm still optimistic about VF5R for consoles. It just wouldn't make any sense at all for Sega to not release it. VF5 sold like, 1 million copies combined on the PS3 and the 360, and that was with a small PS3/360 install base! Surely Sega must know that since the PS3 and 360 have more than doubled in sales since VF5's release, they'd sell a ton more (Especially if they'd advertise).

I'm no business executive, but not releasing an updated version of one of your longest running, top 10 in the arcades, million seller (Million + in the case of VF4)franchises just doesn't make business sense to me. But then again... Sega doesn't always make the best decisions... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

And aside from all that, SFIV, Tekken6, KoFXII and Blazblue are all either released on consoles or are going to be! Doesn't Sega want to compete in the continually growing console market? (Arrgh! xD)

    Anyway, just my 2 cents.

i think more than anything, that's what's scaring sega off.

street fighter, tekken, and to a lesser extent kof and blazblue are well established titles from well established developers and have well established fanbases.

vf? it's that one game sega fanboys and game journalist types wank to.
