    Hey guys,

I went to karaoke tonight with my friend from sega japan who has some serious clout and pretty much told him everything I wanted to tell him about how we all want VF5r. I talked all about the VFDC community, how hardcore the members are, travelling thousands of miles from europe and australia for gatherings, etc and he was really surprised. He also told me that the opinion box that we've been sending emails to DOES work and every employee at sega including marketing and management gets those mails. So..... If you want VF5r, KEEP SENDING THE E-MAILS but... make sure they are different names and different IPs as there is an IP filter. He also told me that there is a development conference which will include sega japan, sega europe and sega USA and all the head honchos will be there to discuss what games will be made in the next 2 years. My opinion, if you guys really want R is to keep going with the emails but make sure you arent just sending 10 or 20 emails from the same IP with the same name. Also, you dont need to paste any japanese. Just 'virtua fighter 5r PS3 or xbox' is good enough. Lets try to get as many countries involved as possible. Thanks in advance, guys and gals.

I really drove it home when I talked to him talking about all sorts of things like...

    1. the game isnt available in arcades outside japan so theres no way for forgeiners to play it.

    2. hardcore fans are really upset sega hasnt said a word about the game especially since sf4 is almost home and t6br has been announced for console.

    3. sega needs to communicate with its fans more. We would like to hear a yes or no rather than nothing at all. Obviously we all want to hear a yes but at least with a no, we wouldnt be waiting in limbo. That is the worst imo.

    4. hardcore fans (well at least me and plague) would be willing to buy items online to increase profitability for the game. For example, Idolmaster for Xbox only sold around 30k copies but the game was VERY profitable due to the DLC (items). A similiar business model might be the way to go for R.

    5. more than anything, this game brings our community together and I've made alot of great friends on here.

Hmmm, now that I've moved to a different address with a different ISP I may have to send another one of those e-mails, now that I have reason to believe it might make some difference.

Thanks a lot LA. I've sent e-mails from all my addresses with different IPs a while ago, will do it again when I get home, with my work e-mail.

let's hope this marks the downfall of the detached sega who made games like sonic 06 and the return of the in touch sega who supported pso to the bitter end.

i just got a new isp so i guess i'll send a new email.

Thank you Gerald! I'll try to send out a few at work from my fellow workers desk. Since they are on a network, all the PC's should have slightly different IP addresses.

Interesting post. It's good to know that emails to SEGA are actually getting somewhere /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I also sent an email to SEGA Japan following the instructions posted on the front page. VF player from the Philippines, btw /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif If they want their game franchise to be more successful they have to reach out to other countries and make their game more widely available. Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion is everywhere here in my country, and is very, very popular. If SEGA actually put more effort into marketing the VF series they could rival Tekken once more; it's just that Namco is out-marketing them.

I really hope at the very least they announce something related to VF5R for consoles soon.

EDIT: I also posted about the VFDC campaign and your experience over on my blog, I hope that helps somehow:

Thanks L_A. The following note has been added to the front page news:

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Note: Typing your message in English is also fine. However, due to filtering, it's pointless to spam from the same IP and/or email address. If you wish to submit multiple times then it's better to enlist the help of others.</div></div>

Dont get too excited yet. The AM show is arcade games. If it is in fact version B, its most likely just the arcade one for now. I hope I am wrong though.

    Haha~ I hope so Plague!!
However, VF usually takes about two times to be revised. And I think AM2 will make home version unchangeable which means the last version as well. I'm also looking for the miracle that we can upgrade our home version through XBL or PSN!! SEGA PLEASE^^
