But then you roll into the Alphas and things change a bit lol.

But yeah, Ken actually has more wins against Ryu I think in the story? But anyway, Ryu should be better than Ken now cause he was practicing with Oro /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    You've figured it out, abcd.
We play Japanese games, watch Japanese anime (in Japanese!), eat Japanese food, invest thousands of dollars on Japanese appliances and peripherals BUT secretly we resent those Easterners for getting us hooked to all of their wonderful stuff
    (specially VF /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif)

    Oh no.
You have discovered our hidden resentment.
    The secret is out.

    Great detective work there, sleuth.

I also want in game footage of the game + some in game footage of the high def street fighter 2. It all seems like filler until we see the game in motion or play it. I also want this to make arcades popular again.

What if that trailer was in game footage? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

    >_> Well, you never know!

I'm willing to settle for just making fighting games popular again...but then again I don't see either situation happening, sooo... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

I duno, I actually think the fighting game is picking up steam. Last two years of EVO attendance have been higher than the previous year. Soul Calibur 4, Tekken 6, and now SF4 are all huge titles that are on their way. I could see it really becoming at least more popular that it currently is. But then again maybe I'm just optomistic lol.

I think fighting games will become more popular now that they are receiving the advantage of online play. Over the next year we'll have VF5, Tekken 6, and Soul Calibur IV online not to mention titles like Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. I think that these will help bridge a gap that has been too wide for too long since the "death" of arcades.

Fighting games are definitely picking up steam. I see more and more people in my local arcade playing the Marvel VS games every month. Unfortunately, the best fighters to arrive to new consoles are going to be PS3 titles, which will certainly stunt their popularity. Hopefully SFIV will be 360 as well.

My feelings are mixed on Namco, though. I support Sony most of the time over other companies, but Sony keeps shitting on their consumers, and with other consoles dominating, exclusivity needs to disappear so that all people can play the same fighting games. Such a niche genre needs as much exposure as it can get.

JF_, what makes you think the best fighters will be PS3 titles? VF5 will be online (a feature the PS3 version doesn't have) for 360 this month, and it's already been confirmed that SCIV, Tekken 6, and basically every other fighting game are all going to be on both 360 AND PS3. Multiplatform. So, take heart /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Capcom is very pro-360 so we'll likely see it as multiplatform as well. Something as big as SFIV won't remain on one system.

Since when was Tekken 6 announced for 360?

Ah, my bad. It has not yet been confirmed. For that title in particular, it's only being "strongly rumored" to go multiplatform. This is the same source that broke the news that Virtua Fighter 5 would be headed to the 360 with online play initially, so it could quite possibly be true. That, coupled with the already-confirmed SCIV being on PS3 and 360 certainly makes it believable.

Apologies for any confusion I caused. For the record, I personally believe the rumors. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I think it's only natural at this point.

I don't know, the idea of SFIV on Xbox Live warrants at least a semi-chub.

    it's not, it's PS3.
But if it's anything like Tekken 5 DR Online on PSN, then I'm not interested.

Namco did a terrible job with the Online mode for T5DR on PSN.

If this comes true, Sony is going to get so much flak for this and loose their fighting game consumers, which would leave the Metal Gear fans and people who want a cheap blue ray player would still want a PS3.

Aren't heavy rumours going around that even MGS is coming to 360 as well? I personally don't like Tekken, but I wouldn't mind if it came to 360, either.

I would not be surprised anymore. I basically picked up Tekken since it was in my arcade and I played while waiting to play other games. Still much prefer both this and DOA to Tekken, but that is what is played here more around my college. If anyone can back up these rumors, please give the site reference that would prove it.

I'm way too tired to find it now, but I'll try to find some websites I heard it on. I can really see MGS ending up on 360, same with Tekken 6. Who knows, only time will tell. ;]

There is only evidence to indicate the opposite in regards to MGS. Kojima himself, at E3 07, confirmed it was PS3 exclusive. People who say it's going to 360 really have nothing to back them up.

However, it wouldn't surprise me at all if MGS4: Superdupersistence were to appear on the 360. It'll probably happen for that game, but MGS4: Guns of the Patriots will be exclusive to PS3.

As for Tekken 6, I believe Namco uses Playstation hardware in their arcade cabinets (thus why Tekken games port so well; that's why Tekken 3 was praised so much for its arcade perfect gameplay). IIRC, they're using the Cell processor for Tekken 6, so it seems they're pretty dedicated to Sony with regards to their Tekken franchise.
