'Story Mode' For VF5?

Do you think by adding a storyline people might get turned off of certain characters.

Maybe they can make VF's story more about a martial arts comp instead of some silly save the world thing?

 

The game already has a story mode but adding a extra cinema here and there would be pretty cool.

One has to realise that there is no main character in VF.

Yes, Akira is the poster boy, but the story/ies do(es)n't centre around him.

An in game story would be nice, endings for the characters or something. I always wanted to see it and only got it for VF Kids. simple way to appeal to the button masher crowd, add a button masher mode to the game. a super smash bros style of fighting, it would be dumbed down and easy to play and OPTIONAL. so us hardcore player can buy the disc and not ever TOUCH that option, while Joe Schmo can pick up and play that version and think that he's good.

And I'm sorry Tekken has appealing looking characters? they all look like they have been rejected from a pride parade for being too flamboyant.

I think VF could use a brand new roster of characters. Just replace all the former characters with newer 'hipper' characters. Like what BlazBlue was to Guilty Gear. As iconic as they are to us, they are lacking 'character' according to most of the casuals. Keep Goh and Jean because the casuals seem to like those two the most out of the characters. The story could use a reboot as well since the whole evil organization behind the tournament thing has been done a million times before.

 

I think people can relate to Jeffry as well Truesonic, he's a fisherman, quite common these days with the recession and all.

I don't mind rebooting the story since there never really was one in the beginning lol, but brand new roster I don't like. How about instead of replacing everyone, we get more then 2 new characters in a new iteration?
