    I've read about (but haven't tried) 2P+K or even K+G versus tech rollers.

    Charge P+K... :rolleyes: Can be avoided for a free combo every time. 9K is also -16 on block, not what you want from your nitaku mid. Against good players that know Lau his oki is pretty basic, just throws, mids like 33PP, 6P, and such, sometimes you can do 2K+G to beat evaders and LTE and reset the situation, but it really doesn't get any better than that. However against typical online folk and people who don't know Lau, 2P+K into Kokei is pretty good as it's a mid that gives frame advantage on block and hit so you can go for your typical Kokei 3P_K+GP flowchart game. Pair that with his other + frames on guard Kokei entry moves like 33PP, 4P+KP and etc. to complete the picture, but once they start figuring you out, return to first mentioned tactics.

    You can actually set up charge p+k as a meaty after 6p+kp, but it's not that good since the active frames are quite low. After it hits, I found 3ppp2k the most reliable combo.

    Yes, but it's not totally free. Since P+K can be charged for 40 frames and before that is cancellable with 4 into Kokei you can go into stance and track to force block.

    Also if the opponent doesn't take the evade option P+K at max distance does feel like it has minor evasion - mid kicks can whiff, just before fully charged P+K strikes.

    8K+G beats low kick, and 9P+K can probably do the same for better damage with ground scrape. Though 8P+K would probably whiff like it usually does.

    46K+G can hit an unclean tech roll, it's not reliable, but the window for punishment is -6 so much less than 9K which is a terrible option.

    Weaker option: 66K+G strikes twice, and is -8 on block, and as a two-limbed jumping move causes problems for Aois happy to wake up in yin-yang.

    Kokei-K can win in the exchange on wake-up - not sure why, and not sure if 7K is the same, but I've seen it beat low wakeup kick. I've also seen 2K+G beat low wake-up kick - again, not reliable.
