Also, game show network is adding videogame programming.

If the network is smart, it'll have the Whammy host one of the shows.

Game Show Network Adds New Video Game Programming Block in the Fall During Fringe Time

Network Acquires Popular Video Game Programs GAME SAUCE and GAMER.TV From Gamer.tv Limited ... GSN Is Searching for an Interstitial Host ... Network Will Produce Its Second Documentary Featuring Video Games for Premiere Night Kick Off

SANTA MONICA, Calif. and LONDON, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Game Show Network, the world's number one channel for games on television, is broadening its programming slate to include, for the first time ever, video game-related programming.

Two popular video game programs produced by the UK's Gamer.tv Limited, GAME SAUCE and GAMER.TV, will anchor a new hosted video game programming block. A soon-to-be-named host will provide viewers with up-to-the minute video game news which will air in a wrap-around format between the new series. Launching in the fall, the block will debut 5-7 PM ET/2-4 PM PT on Thursdays and be repeated on Saturdays and Sundays at the same respective times.

To kick off the new programming on its premiere night, GSN will produce a documentary focusing on video games. The video game documentary will be GSN's second. GSN's first documentary, BIG BUCKS: THE PRESS YOUR LUCK SCANDAL garnered the network's highest ratings ever. Specific content surrounding the video game documentary will be announced at a later date.

In making the announcement, President and Chief Executive Officer Rich Cronin said: "We are determined to provide programming that is distinctive to our brand, but at the same time expands beyond traditional studio game shows. We've been eyeing video games for quite some time and we were extremely pleased to obtain these two high-end programs. The video game market appeals to our younger audience and is the perfect complement for our industry leading interactive television."

GSN, now in over 51 million homes, will air two half-hours of GAME SAUCE and one thirty minute episode of GAMER.TV in the block. GAME SAUCE and GAMER.TV shows will be original every Thursday. Both shows are topical and will present that week's hottest video game news and products. Additionally, GSN's host will report on the latest up to the minute news in the world of video games from such Southern California locales as Venice Beach, skateboard parks and arcades.

"We're delighted to be able to announce this distribution deal with Game Show Network, which will allow viewers in the US fantastic access to two of Gamer.tv's best loved shows," added Gamer.tv CEO Chris Bergstresser. "GAME SAUCE and GAMER.TV have a loyal following around the world, and we're very much looking forward to welcoming Game Show Network's viewers in the States to join them."

The video game block also presents the network with numerous product placement opportunities. Michael Sakin, GSN's Senior Vice President of Advertising Sales, is actively pursuing software developers, soft drink and fast food companies, wireless cell phone distributors and the automotive industry for product placement integration opportunities.

That mating call of a voice of his prolly singlehandedly caused a population
    boom in the mid-late 70s.

    -----------
    from VH1.com

Barry White, the legendary R&B singer whose smooth, deep baritone set the
standard for romantic crooners for years to come, died Friday after a
lengthy battle with numerous health problems. He was 58.

White passed away at Los Angeles'

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Friday morning, according to a spokesperson for
the late singer. White suffered kidney failure last fall and had a stroke in
May . He had been waiting for his health to improve in hopes of undergoing a
    kidney transplant.

"His generous nature, courtly manners and timeless music made him the most
giving and sought-after human being I've ever known," White's longtime
    manager, Ned Shankman, said.

White's voice - at once booming and tender - seemed an extension of his
imposing presence. The singer's large frame seemed matched only by his
charisma and his talent. His career spanned more than three decades, but he
is perhaps best known as the velvet voice behind such classics as "Can't Get
Enough of Your Love, Babe" and "You're the First, the Last, My Everything."

White's first foray into music came at age 16 when he recorded the song
"Little Girl" with the group the Upfronts. He later worked as an A&R rep
(with the 5th Dimension and the Bobby Fuller Four) and as a producer
(putting together Love Unlimited). Soon White began working on demos of his
own, which eventually yielded his first album, 1973's I've Got So Much to
    Give.

White then joined forces with Love Unlimited, rechristened it the Love
Unlimited Orchestra, and began to churn out a string of hits that made him
one of the most successful R&B artists of the '70s. Songs like "It's Ecstasy
When You Lay Down Next to Me," "You See the Trouble With Me," "I'll Do for
You Anything You Want Me To" and "Love Serenade" established White and Love
Unlimited as the music of choice for many a romantic evening through the
    disco era.

The '80s brought a handful of less successful albums and eventually a hiatus
for White. However, he re-emerged in the '90s with the albums The Man Is
Back, The Right Night & Barry White and Put Me in Your Mix. Despite his
early success, White would not win his first Grammy Award until 2000, for
    his album Staying Power.

White was preparing a "duets" album for release on Def Soul later this year.

White is survived by eight children: La nece, Deniece, Nina, Shehera,
Barriana , Barry Jr., Darrell, and his stepson, McKevin. He is also survived
by his companion (and the mother of Barriana), Catherine Denton.

That is some truly impressive handiwork on P'n'M. I have a vid from awhile back off of Daioh of someone equally if not more impressive on 7-Key Beatmania. I'd love to post that up so people can see it sometime.

that's one of my favorites too, it's dj ago 9 doing era.
I have a special beatmania section on my irc fserve for anyone who's interested. Seeing that daioh inspired me to download a hundred others like it. Some of the drumming games are pretty impressive too. For those who want to have a look, the folder is beatmania (duh) and I recommend anything that says "full combo" or "dj lisu" in it.

After that, i will NEVER copy that floppy. Because i dont want him on my computer rappin at me.

This thread always makes me nervous because it is so sprawling you need to have paid attention all the way through to not have spill-over.

anyway, 'don't copy that floppy' is scary enough you people should be shaken as though by british nannies. shudder.

I have no idea, but it IS fun. I got a kick out of seeing all the kuroko involvement. You usually don't see those guys out of a classic theatre environment.
