SoCal VF Party, May 21st-24th, 2009

Will there be any games other than VF5? I don't have enough of a competitive local scene to make a road trip just for VF. I've been to SoCal twice in the last month for Soul Calibur IV though, so other fighters would make me want to participate more than just VF5.

 

No other games are planned. There's nothing wrong with you bringing another game and seeing if people are into it. This is normally an all VF all the time type thing.

 

I'm curious Yosuke wouldn't you be joining the tournament as well? you would beat us all lol

 

Oh i see where he's heading with this. He wants some us to beat you guys so that it will be easier for him to win.

I dunno - watching Ken_I beat-up Itazan and Yosuke in 3S back in August, 2007 was pretty damn cool. Witnessing, say, a CaliJared vs. DrDogg SC4 battle might kick ass.

I'm certainly not elitist about games. Play what you want. My request is that no one use a station for an alternate game if there are people waiting to play VF.

 

Maybe we can have some prize for the Team Battle, how do you guys think??

Jared always runs from me in SC4. I show up ate two SoCal tournaments and he doesn't make either one. It's okay Jared, I'd be afraid of the iMCF too...

I'll see about making it out to this, but as it stands I don't have enough comp to make it worthwhile.

 

This has to be Shidosha, always with the shirt on his head. Can't wait to see everyone in May.

And to Dr. Dogg, man I thought you wouldn't figure out that you were the sole reason I wasn't making it to those tourneys! ;-)

Anyway, I should be going to Evo, so I'll most likely see you there man. I want to go prepared so don't expect an easy match from me in SC.

 

Itazan and I were kind of tired of playing only VF because we had played only VF since before EVO tournament. then we saw Ken_I did pretty well on EVO, and he brought a copy of ST/turbo and his stick to talis' house. There was no reason for us not to play ST. I am pretty sure that someone will bring ST4(or other games) and some will play. I have played st4 about 50 matches in japan, so I may try or at least watch it.

even though we wont have a tournament of other games, some of us will play other games. Its likely to be held around midnight, morning or noon when people are taking a rest/all screens are not being used/people are getting tired from playing/watching VF. Like flash said, VF is considered as the main game for this gathering. Therefore, it can't be happening that people play other games when players are coming to Talis' house.

back to the last event, I think we played ST when some players were playing VF, but also some were taking a break. BESIDES, Itazan was the main visitor for the event, so I would say that was a different situation.
well, I would assume some of us were having fun watching Ken_I and Itazan playing ST3 because they had been playing VF for several hours straight and they got a bit tired of VF. Its always fun to watch good players.

for me, I don't care if you play other games or not, but I would like to respect VF players since this event is held on VFDC. you may go to ST gathering if you would want to play ST4 a lot.

we play other games just for break/fun, I suppose.

 

I always expect an easy match from you in SC.

If you watch that house party video at the end of the first post, there are at least 5 or 6 people in it that I'd never met before (not that you can tell by watching it).
