Shang: saying you can't call the terms, when this thing was basically all your game from the beginning? Jeff even upped the ammount when you said you wanted more money! This whole thing about getting un-banned is just a ruse to distract people from the real issue: you chickened out bitch! I guess the thought of loosing $600 on your ticket, then loosing another $600 to Jeff was just too much, and your GF would've been too angry.

It has begun!

Zero-chan has arrived. Srider will be here in a few hours. Ice-9 later on.

Plans for tonight: meet at Frisco's at 6:00 pm sharp for dinner, go to AI afterwards. After AI, gonna pick-up Ice-9 at 11:15 pm. Then it's Alex's post AI idea. I'm not sure what he has in mind.

Ice-9, Catherine and I, and probably Zero-chan and Srider will be returning to my house after going to ONT airport. VFers are invited to play at my house tonight till whenever you like. House is open for much VF goodness.

 

Night one recap:

Seeing everyone at AI was incredible last night. Let see - we had <font color="blue">pushku, snapz, Srider, Zero-chan, Jack, Exile, Bobby, GoatCheeseBlues, PhoenixDth, SiLLyWiLLy, GY_Beta (Joey), AI David, Catherine</font>, plus a newer player whose name I don't know.

Highlights were Catherine's streak of four wins followed immediately by GoatCheeseBlue's streak of nine. Fucking awesome.

<font color="blue">Ice-9</font> landed at ONT airport around 11:30 pm. I brought him back to the house to play some Evo with <font color="blue">Srider, Zero-chan, SiLLyWiLLy, PhoenixDth, GoatCheeseBlues, Catherine</font> and myself. I crashed about 5:00 am. That makes me the lightweight - I think others ran till about 9:00am.

I wish I could make it tonight, but due to work I won't be able to see you guys until around 8 or 9am tomorrow morning. Will anyone still be awake? I could stop by and say hi to everyone.

Night Two in full force

It's 4:30 am and the party is still going strong. Everyone's having a great time despite a few setbacks.

Our air conditioner gave up this afternoon so we resorted to open windows and fans even though it was over 100 degrees today. It's a little cooler now, but it's still 87 degrees in the house and everyone is playing along without any complaints. Very cool of you all to do that.

Something not-so-great happened sometime tonight - someone left a 24 oz. Del Taco drink on the piano and a can of Vault soda on the piano bench. I don't think this was done maliciously, however the wood is really damaged. It's similar to taking a hammer to your car. I don't really know how to handle this - it's one of those "I wish this hadn't happened" sort of things and Catherine and I are sad about it. The piano is from Catherine's childhood. I'd like it if the person(s) responsible would contact me via PM and take care of repairing the damage. I have no idea how the stains can be removed or what the cost will be.




DRE: You are welcome to come to the party. I'm going to sleep for a bit and I'm not sure who will be awake or still here when you arrive. The house will also be getting really warm.

To the responsible: Shit happens, but please do own up to this matter. I would hate to have Plague reconsider future gatherings over this incident. He deserves your honesty, and compensation.

Don't worry - the wood was well sealed, so nothing was damaged too badly. Still, it could have been a LOT worse. I'm sure it was just a case of someone being absentminded rather than actively malicious. Everyone, just be a bit more careful in the future, OK?

We're managing to deal with the heat OK. I just think of it as an accurate re-creation of the Beat Tribe atmosphere. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif It's still a lot better than the heat at some conventions I've been to...

Day three wrap-up

Get up whenever and the house is 89 degrees. Outside it hits 108 or something stupid like that. What to do. What to do...

Leave the fucking house, eat lunch Romano's, watch Clerks II, go to L.A., eat at FuRaiBo, take Zero-chan to LAX, go to AI and meet Bobby and Tony while we're there, get home at midnight and the house is 92 degrees. Even in the face of record temperatures, VFer's are really some of the neatest people in the world. It was a great day.


Also...

The piano is fine (like Zero-chan already posted) - the magic of the internet came through with suggestions on how to fix things plus the piano had good sealant in the first place.

AC repair people scheduled for today (Sunday) between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. I swear I hope it's one and not three. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My plane out of LA got delayed and I missed the last BART train back into SF, but I called up a friend and he was able to pick me up, so all's well. Day four... seriously... 4

Get up - fuck, it's still hot.

Take Ice-9 to ONT. Take Srider to a house in Rosemead.

That second part was an adventure. I think we scared some people by merely showing up...

News reporter: "terror stricken locals duck into their house in fear of two men in a blue WRX - here's the story..."

Terrified homeowners: "This guy with long blond hair pulls up in this blue car and some guy - must be Chinese Mafia - gets out and he asks us about a house he's trying to find but can't cause some lady gives him a wrong address. We say: 'You should look up the street.'

News reporter: "So, did they leave?"

Terrified homeowners: "Yah. But they came BACK 17 minutes later and stopped in our DRIVEWAY and the Chinese Mafia guy was talking on a CELLPHONE. We ran back in the house, slammed the door, and quickly looked out the window, and they were STILL THERE."

News reporter: "That must've been horrible."

The best part? That WAS the house we were looking for, the person who gave Srider the address lived AT THAT HOUSE and got the number wrong AND she never told them we were coming.

Oh, and $275 later, my house is starting to cool off! The moral of this story? Wash dirt out of your AC condenser more than, say, never.

I can make it Wednesdays, but not Thursdays anymore because of work.

i am new to VF, and currently very addicting to it, and willing to carefully watch a match and learn from it. i am practicing akira, so if you guys have akira vids, that'll be awsome!!
BTW.....WOW! i never knew there are some female VF players. i only know one girl who plays a lot of vidoe games, especially fighting games. she go to my university and she plays a lot of tekken and socalibur. aside from her, i dont know anybody else who plays fighting games. is "zero-chan" the only female at the gathering???

My wife, Catherine, also plays. She has a very strong Pai. It was awesome Thursday night at AI - Catherine (Pai) vs. Zero-chan (Vanessa). I said to my friend "there are the best female VFers in the United States."
