With Plague's permission I'm going to explain the way things are gonna work as far as gaming on Evo:

The plan is to have long tables with multiple ps2 setups... Ps2's, game discs are much apprieciated. We're aiming at 7 - 8 setups.

IMPORTANT

B.Y.O.S, (Bring Your Own Stick) sure there will be some loaners around possibly by our hosts, but please do bring your own if possible. It reduces the stress of having other people's equipment tattered by communal usage. Many of you know my woes. Also, PLEASE do have something in a type A or C setup. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hopefully that should calm some fears regarding long waits for a game. Although it's great that A.I has FT please understand that this is primarily an EVO affair in terms of tourneys and overall enjoyment... FT is mearly icing on the cake to being able to gather with *I dare say* about 60% of players from USA (not much [P]P) + foreign guests. Let's not be ungrateful.

Can't wait to see you all...

-I DO NOT want to play Final Tuned on a Initial D cabinet.

So yes, sadly it is easier than it sounds. Our best chance is that if the Tao's has a spare Naomi2 GD-Rom in their warehouse, which i really really doubt. (I dont remember any of the other games on this list) Also since it is most likely we wont be able to house the NY FT disc, I think its too demanding for them to bring their actual hardware - considering what happened the last time they transported it.

My suggestion to people if you want to play FT, wake up and come earlier.

What is the problem with playing FT on an Initial D cabinet? I have the I/O we need not doing anything right now in my closet...wire some joysticks to it and plug it in the Initial D (these are side by side driving cabs, correct?) cabs equipped with NYC's FT disk and have a seat. Is there room to sit in the chair with a joystick without the steering wheel getting in the way? Will AI let you monkey around inside their cabinets? I know this is the ghetto-est workable solution you could possibly imagine but it seems to me a workable solution provided you can answer "yes" to the last two questions above. Just a suggestion... /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I know I will be /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif, GGXX is a secondary time consuming game, but I swear I will be the one to pull that shite off /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif but rest assured, I will be here PURELY FOR VF, show yall the first love /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I agree - it is a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with so many fellow VFers - many whom we haven't seen in ages. The social aspect is a major draw for me as well.

That said, i think we should have some kind of FT tourney in addition to plentiful Evo tournies and casual play. I think just as many people haven't played/are no longer familiar with Evo since getting FT well over a year ago.

Just my .02 cents.

we were considering an FT team battle
3v3 5v5?

just the problem is that, is that i want to let the non FT owners get a chance to play FT as much as possible before leaving socal. Im sure you know what rotations are like after 10+ people 30-40 minute wait per turn and we're expecting double that amount.

All in all, its up to the players to decide . . .

Something else to throw around your brains as this event explodes into massive proportions...

Transportation

My Odyssey holds 5 or 6 passengers and my WRX holds three. I'm not sure if Catherine will be free to drive players to A.I., etc - so I'll stay with the ability to transport 5 or 6 VFer's at a time.

GoatCheeseBlues was mentioning earlier that he might have more floor space than car space.

I imagine other SoCal hosts having similar problems as I don't think most have vehicles large enough to carry more than 3 riders at a time.

If visitors have, or can pool, resources to rent vehicles, go for it. It may not be necessary but it could keep people from having to wait around.

I recommend bringing earplugs. AI can get loud as hell.

If FT is all taken up... well I'll just run over and play SF3 or something =)

I think LPC73 might still have space, he hasnt confirmed if his location filled up yet. I think there shouldnt be a problem with getting a ride out from LAX to event location. IF ANYTHING ONCE AGAIN- PLEASE IF POSSIBLE FLY INTO "ONT" ONTARIO, CA airport!! Unless you have already made arrangements with LPC73, I think LAX is easier for him.

SPECIAL NOTICE
While on this topic. . .
Everyone that is flying in PLEASE POST YOUR ITENERARIES. This is crucial for socal members to organize transporation for everyone without driving in meaningless roundtrips. Special announcement in the next several hours . . . .

hello

this is my suggestion. I heard we can herdly Play VFdue to the number of people. If so, I will give a chance to play FT to someone who has never played VF4FT yet such as Maddy. i also heard he had never played VF4FT. Even though he loses in FT, I don't want him to play VF5 without VF4FT. Even if so, I will play FT against 50 people, right? Hopefully, you can understand my bad English.

sorry ive been quiet for a while ~

hmm, right now im in a tough dilema~ but i didnt wanna say anything till i was more sure than i am now~

because i also plan to go to china this yr which is more expensive, ~ going to america may or may not affect my savings alot ~ which is what i gotta decide within the next week or so. if i was sure exactly how much i was spending ~ (e.g ~ local travel, food, diseny land(?) housing may be sorted) ~ then i could make a final decision.

this saturday is another UK ranking battle~ i guess by then i could come to some conclusion~ and if Ryan's there i'll ask him also~

the desire is definatley there, heck i'd love to come~ and i'll try my best to attend~ cheers guys~

BK-info on funds:

So quick breakdown estimate (March 23rd-26th):
Food :$60
AI:$30
Disneyland:$100 - $120

I would say $250 should get you by easily

If you need to get a hotel room during the trip I would say you are looking at $40 and up

Onto other things:
Ok adjustment on the space I have available. I still have 6 total, but when it reaches more than 4 someone will have to rent a car. I only have room for 4 guests in my car., but as a warning four will create close quarters.. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If anyone is interested in my space then PM me:

Quick breakdown of my apartment.
Central Heat and AC
big Bathroom
Washer and dryer if you need to wash clothes
Very comfortable sofa
king size bed
closet and drawer space
60 in. HDTV
digital surround sound
ps2,gamecube,xbox,360,mame,psp
sodas,chips, hot dogs, beer, popcorn

Also PM me if you are going to Disneyland. Let me know if you want to do the Grand Tour $79 or the one park tour $59. Majority decision rules with which one we take.

Airports: LAX and ONT, are even distances, but trips to Plague's house is farther than anyone else's
