I think I watch too many Japanese videos (I've been watching almost every day now for about 4 months). Seems like there are a lot of wasted moves/opportunities, but immediately I was impressed by Yosuke in the team matches (like I could recognize he was far better than anyone else in about 10-15 seconds in). He should have beat Ladon (who I was also impressed with - looks like he does a lot of JPN video studying also), but it was like the pressure just all came down on him at the end or something weird. He just stopped fighting... once again, it was REALLY weird. Srider also impressed me versus Ladon. It seems his knowledge/game technique (solid fuzzying really seemed to throw Shang for a loop as his throw mixups were put to shame) and ability to adapt is all there. Maybe it is the character and he isn't 100% with her yet (technical wise), but Srider has so much potential.

I'm moving up to Silicon Valley come August, so I really look forward to getting to know the NorCal team and getting up to speed on the game with you guys (personally I'm a VF noob - waiting for 360 version details before deciding on which system I get it for)!

Edit: LOL, I just checked the shoutouts thread and saw that Yosuke IS from Japan! No wonder he looked as good as the Japanese players I watch, and I was immediately able to pick him out as if he was from another league. Haha, I just watched the actual tournament vids, and was going to make a post suggesting they import some players from Japan so that he could actually have some competition. ROFL! Good stuff!

Wow, you are really good at sticking two cocks in your mouth and dissing everyone else all at once. Congratulations watching too many videos and notice all the wasted moves in the comfort of your mom's basement, that's a real fucking accomplishment. I suggest you now to STFU, play some quest mode, come to a tourney.. BEAT Ladon in the main event... then talk shit. OKAY camper?
Oh.. you still don't have VF5 yet. Why don't you stop posting useless shit on the internet, use this time to work some over time at your parttime job at KFC and save up for the game first?

ROFL, shang, what happened to the "no more flaming" you claimed in Socal?

Not that i blame you, of course . . .

Shang@ he's never gonna show up to a tournament ever, I've got like 2 years experience with this clown from doacentral that backs it up.

Mods or Admins@ can we prune the flame bait before it ruins a good thread?

LOL! How did you come up with the number 2? I complimented at least 3 people. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif I don't see what personal skill has to do with anything I said. I merely compared what I saw at the tournament to Japanese videos and how they play. It is just very different. Is this a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif surprise? It wasn't trash talking any of the players there. It was just more of a reminder that like some other people are doing, we should probably just be comparing American players to other American players since the amount of play experience isn't there probably to be able to get to the Japanese level when they have arcades and are able to play hours every day against every type of style.

LOL at your second paragraph too. It is pretty bad to just "assume" things about people. #1 I'm in college and graduating with a Master's degree in May, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif which is why I'm moving to NorCal and Silicon Valley /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif to continue my career in perfecting fried chicken LOL. #2 I plan to join the NorCal crew to get down the solid aspects of the game, because I realize they are quite extensive. I see them even in these videos, as I complimented Srider on that... or are you mad that I complimented someone for recognizing your style and countering it? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

As for Unsafe_Dan, ROFL! You don't know me... at ALL! Don't act as if you do. I don't travel for games when I don't feel they are worth my travel time. DOA4 is not a game worth travel time imo (I thought so early on in that trip I planned to Texas if you remember that, but later found the game to be lacking). I care about the quality of the game itself, not the money involved.

No hating was meant in this thread. This was just the first time I saw any vids of the top American players, and it was just a surprise to me after only seeing the Japanese players for months. I realize that takes a lot of effort, and will be tough even to compete with you guys over here before even thinking of competing with the Japanese. Once again, I look forward to meeting up with the NorCal crew probably come September after I'm at least a bit familiar with putting the game mechanics into practice, so I can have something to build on with you guys. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Who could beat Ladon's El Blaze?

Ladon's El Blaze is funky good but there were round robin matches in the tournament preceding the clips posted here (to determine seeding) and I'm pretty sure Ladon lost a few times then. No one had a perfect record in the team tournament; the best result is probably Yosuke with one loss.

Actually, Srider beat me in the very first match of the Team Tournament, and I got beat bad quite a few times after that. "Funky good" is a really nice way to say it... I prefer "pretty scrubby." Maybe now I could be considered "funky good," since I've been practicing...lol.

Seems as if you learn fast from those early matches.
