So if you had to pick ONE character....

In my opinion Blaze is just as applicable as a "true" VF char. as Wolf is--I mean, c'mon, they are both super-ridiculous wrestlers after all, and they both somehow manage to utilize the VF "feel".

Eileen was a mistake. For f*ck sake, it's like Bob Sapp v Hannah Montana when she's sized up against Jeff. Granted I would actually pay to see that, I just don't enjoy her appearance or feel in this game.


As for a forecast, Jean can blow me. If I want to play Tekken I will.

Shun. Old guy doing young peoples' breakdance tricks is not cool, and he's not the best role model for the binge drinking age.

And sack all the English speaking 'actors' who voice all the people who speak English, especilly the one who speaks for Lion or Jacky.

 

I think SEGA did a good job to make everyone fit in VF5...even Dural for a boss.

If someone had to go, it would be EL BLAZE for me...he reminds me more so of a homo-SNM-freak than a Lucha Libre fighter.
Plus like someone already mentioned, he says things like "HOT DOG"...which is a real no-no if you are wearing shinny/leathery spandex with a matching condom-mask.

 

I think Jacky's voice is perfect for the character.

Lion, I'm not too sure about. I think he should probably sound a little bit older.

I think the characters should have accents based on where they are from though, unless there is good reason for them not to.

 

I agree this would be an awesome idea however I just can't see lion speaking with a french accent and not want to burt out into laughter. I'd prefer they just speaking their native tongue a la tekken style.

Hmm, yes, there's a general dislike of El Blaze where i come from (as Sidna7 eloquently put it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif) but my personal hatred is channeled towards Shun. I find he is broken beyond measure. Rainbow sabaki, that low kick that goes under everything, a bunch double kicks, absurdly fast and safe moves, kkpk from floats for roughly half your lifebar bar? Even worse, judging from the vids of VF5R i'm seeing that's not going to change. I mean c'mon, a throw from lie down stance so he can throw me while i can't? And safe lows from down there? ABSURD mobility also? 4 times faster than characters walk mobility, and on every direction. Raibow sabaki still there? More mixups? And why the hell is he safe when you break his damaging throws?! I'm still waiting for a VF5R vid having him lose.

Now, there are always people who complain against lei fei but the way i see it, the monk might be hella safe with all his positive frames but at least he's standing. I can still play the normal mid-throw guessing game if he finally goes for something very unsafe or i duck something high so there's no hate there from my part. There's another character that messes up my normal mid-throw game and that's (kingo's) Aoi with her crazy sabaki, 13f mid double punch and ying yang stance. But hey, if i throw him at weird moments or use d+k,p(p) i still manage the occasional win. There's also Lion's hitboxes that leave him safe where he shouldn't be, and eileen's too but there's nothing a few well placed bone crush middles and good-old fashioned low guard won't solve.

But shun, i find he's untouchable, no throws, no mids and my d+k,p whiffs over his head 50% of the time. That might be just me, i'm nobody afterall but if i had a choice, i'd have him die of old age and introduce somebody as his disciple doing his moveset from scratch.

Speaking of movesets, watching how Lei Wulong from tekken animated might be a good direction. Hell even that other dude whose name i won't be bothered to learn from the DoA demo i played animated better than shun. I supose you'll just think i'm just overly hating and dismiss me but somebody has to say it: shun's drunken doesn't animate as drunken the same way kage doesn't animate as a ninja, more like clockwork if you ask me. It's a hit or miss deal, Lion is a hit shun's a miss.

Anyway, to all of the vanessa haters i have to say 2 things: 1) duck k+g if you are not braindead 2) break low throws after b,b+k+g or stupidly lose half your bar 3) remember to use your unsabakiable attacks against DS 5) duck and punish OS.

If there's any advice against shun i'd love to hear it.

You know what? I'd take those English actors back. While they do need improvement, I'd take them to acting school for revision, and a touch up.

Lion isn't the worst English language speaking French voice I've heard. I've heard a lot, lot worse. (Bonjour, you cheese eating surrender monkies [Groundskeeper Willie])

It's just me then, but Jacky sounds like an older Odd Della Robia (Code Lyoko). Certainly reminds me of him down to the hair, altough Lion's spiky hair item is the closest without color.

I think El Blaze was added in for comedy value. Whoever penciled in "Hot Dog" has a 'bad' scence of humor /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

 

Shun Di. Talking about characters with an unbearable voice/acting ? Shun di is the one.

Watch the ORIGINAL Drunken Master (1978) with Jacky Chan, and you'll have a new appreciation for that little bastard (Pai and Lau too, if you look closely). Just check the year because he remade his own movie and it's not as cool. Then check the sequel to see 2 Shuns.

hmmm I would have to say Dural...she is pretty lame and no one plays with her...I think its about time VF gets a new boss thats actually cool...Soul Calibur 4 did a great job and even Tekken has always had a cool Boss...
