[IMG]At the recent Shadowloo Showdown 2012 event, Australia Gamespot's Zorine Te asked a couple of pro players and regular VFDC members their impressions on Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown and the Virtua Fighter series in general.

This includes Ryan Hart (Prodigal Son), Keita Ai (Fuudo), Daniel Chlebowczyk (Berzerk), and Mike Abdow (Myke).

The players went through a wide range of topics with an emphasis on the latest version of the game's balance and difficulty.

I'd garner that most of the people who frequent this site have started with VF5 so they will not understand where Fuudo is coming from and even then, the vast majority of you are not at the level to understand the rationale behind the tiering in FS so I support Myke and ice-9 in saying that everyone should improve to the point where those discussions will become meaningful. 99.9% of this community have not played the game. In the 0.1% that have, 0.09% are not at a competitive level in Japan so any kind of discussion is rather moot.

There is no conspiracy as to why vets from previous VFs have a bias against the VF5 series, the game is dumbed down and balanced in a way we do not like. You can research why this is by looking at my own posts where I clearly break down the mechanics' differences.

Y'know, 45.7% of all statistics are made up on the fly...

78% of people actually believe that.

I'll reserve my judgment on the game until I can play it. I sucked at mte anyway

Ok, I was wrong about no evade cancels. I wonder how this got in my head? At least backdash was made riskier and and can't be cancelled. And the multiple TEs are gone. This seems like it will thankfully weaken the dedicated players who gets a low punch blocked and then does EDTEG 11 E 4411 fuzzy E 4433 punish whiffed attack...

I would like it if the only way to cancel a failed evade was with 66 and 33. That seems like a better balance to reward defensive skills without rewarding turtlism.
