Thanks a lot for that Optimus, forgot to mention I found some SSF2T combo vids the other day but I'd not seen that vid before cheers:

Just another question (or 2), can Akuma in Hyper throw multiple air fireballs like in that vid and can he do that "super combo finish" move and if so, what are the commands?

SiYkO: Yeah it's like a jumping forward flailing kick but that command sounds right to me, cheers.

I think that Akuma/Gouki you have to do a cheat to get him or something on the DC version, not to sure cause (I'm sure it's on gamefaqs) never used him in challenges without people getting grumpy, he was so damn teef! ^_^

no it hasnt, that comand was 1st used for morrigans "dopleganger" super in darstalkers/vampire1

the 1st time akuma had a super was in street fighter alpha/zero1

and in the arcade the comand was LP,LP, forward LK

you didnt need to press HP!!!

so it was easy to put it in combos

the console versions of alpha/zero1 changed it to morrigans!

on the DC super turbo, you needed to finish the game 32 times, with each version of each player OG and ST, get to akuma and beat him without continues, you could lose rounds on the way, but as hardcore sf fans know, there is a time limit to reach akuma!!!

then you could accses a "dip swich" mode/screen

where you could activate the other 2 akumas

one was the normal, the 2nd was the CPU version with 2 air firebals and the longer hurricane so its easyer to get 3licks from it, the 3rd akuma just added a "deathstrike/fircrakker/ragingdeamon" move that takes 50% clean!, so you could do 2 in a row if your bad, and they would have 0% life to play/block with (your enemy), you of corse had to charge a super bar!

Cheers for all the replies everyone.

Well I know for a fact that (one of) Akuma's supers on C v SNK 2 is lp lp f lk hp so I was guessing that the command would be the same tho I now don't think you can do it in Hyper as Akuma has no Super bar. (I've seen other combo vids with multiple air fireball combos and his super finish too...Gouki was the standard one, then Ten Gouki was the one used in the vids if I recall the notes about it).

Is there just "one" version of Akuma in Hyper then? I mean if you hold start and press X to select Super Turbo (and hence to get old chars) and then do the Akuma cheat is it a different version of Akuma you play as or is it just the standard "Hyper" one again.

I do realise playing Akuma in HSF2 is more or less cheating btw (I don't really use him in versus) but he's just too much fun to use in training! /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

    Akuma skank's

I remember the old 'Firecracker' for Akuma in Alpha 1, you co do J. FP_FK, LP,LP, F+LK and it combo's! Imagine if he still had that now, probably for the best that they added the HP!

I'm not too sure about different version's of Akuma in HSF TBH, I'm all over Ken, although I rinsed Akuma back in Alpha 2 though (double air fireball's was too much!).

Ade I'd really suggest using ST Ken as much as just Turbo...I know Turbo Ken is sick for somethings but the super combos and stuff you can pull off with ST Ken is out of this world...not to mention Deejay and Fei Long...

I tend to go thru Arcade using just one char but all versions now (I change when I need to continue that is) and it teaches you a lot more about the game in general.

Oh and have a go at this with Akuma:

cr. Short XX RH HK > Fierce DP

(the DP is done the other way as you're now facing back on yourself and you hit your opponent as they fall out of the air). Does around 40% damage.

    Ken Forever!

I do use ST Ken occassionally, but Turbo Ken has bug's coming out of his ass, atlhough I think it's sfe to say every version of Ken has some bug's. I've been using Ken for too long to drop him now, the majority of 'newer' character's just seem too alien to use IMHO (The same goes in 3Strike).

    'Hadoken'.

ST Ken is the cheapness. I have heard things about OG Ken in ST being good, but I don't know how.

I really can't imagine him having an asset that is favorable over ST Ken's MK throw.

    Re: HSF2

Guess I'm too old-skool for my own good to realise how good ST Ken is (I rinsed the hell outta Turbo Ken back in the day). But it's not like Ken's ever been a 'crap' character, although their have been Street Fighter's where Ryu was better (Alpha 3 spring's to mind). However, I've always preferred Ken (apart from a fleeting moment in 3Strike where I was on a Ryu buzz).

    Re: HSF2

ryu has always been better then ken apart from 3rd strike!

there is only one playable akuma in hypersf2

and turbo ken is far better then any ST player!

    Re: HSF2

I guess I've just alway's preferred Ken to Ryu, it just feel's strange to pick Ryu over Ken. I agree about Turbo Ken, he's the shizzle. Love his horizontal hurricane kick, much more useful than having a super IMHO.

Useful thing with Ken's Super is using it to end a combo with...totally devastating in the right circumstances.

I'm trying to come up with some interesting combos atm so I'll put up anything that looks decent here.

dont bother, super turbo is over 10 years old, all the combos have been found used and thrown away

besides, better bring it to a sf2 forum b4 Myke or who ever tells u off!

try this combo if your good,

turbo guile: dizzy near corner, push them in, then do crouch LP in to sonic boom then wait till they nearly recovered and do low MP in to sonic boom, folow up with a HP backfist:)
