I'd take Super Monkey Ball over Metal Gear Solid titles any day, good for Sega, use this opportunity to generate money for the company and maybe it will be enough to stimulate thoughts on developing VF5R for consoles.

I really liked Super Monkey Ball on my imported Gamecube (managed to beat the main game a couple of times and the later levels were really good). Monkey Target was awesome and a real game of skill, scoring 500 points for landing on the small buoy targets placed the theoretical maximum for 5 rounds at about 5000/6000 when you factored in the x3 multipliers and banana pick-ups. 3500 would have scraped on my cube’s scoreboard at the end.
The funniest gaming session I ever had, came from the first hits on rounds of Monkey Fight; if you’ve ever had a game with 3 old friends you’ve known 15years, and 3 of you inadvertently are all thinking the same thing, and go for the same person straight at the start of a round, you’ll be surprised how humorous that can be, there were tears of laughter that day.

Super Monkey ball 2 was saved by a good 4 player split-screen monkey target, trying to play “aerial glide chicken” with a flying monkey followed by planned kamikaze landings to score and sabotage your opponents score is what 4 player local gaming is all about.
Super Monkey ball Banana Blitz on the Wii had a few great mini games. 4 player split-screen Monkey Target was perfect, except it needed more maps to properly replace Monkey Ball 2 Target for serious gaming sessions. Ring Toss is hilarious just for the name and extreme difficulty of scoring, and Baseball and Hammer Throw always resulted in great comedy moments; nothing quite like getting red faced swinging a wiimote around with real force, only to either miss, let go too early/too late or crashing into a lamp shade or ornament to bring out laughs and the follow up tongue in cheek smack talk.

I really want a new revision of VF for my PS3 with online play, but if I get a great new monkey ball for PS3, that might just tide me over and supplement VF5b while I wait for 6 more months.

    You missed the point.

The Metal Gear Solid countdown had tremendous amounts of hype internationally and turned out to reveal some huge things. A new Metal Gear action spin-off, a new Metal Gear game for the PSP that's canon, and strong hints that the PSP game would not be the last MGS game...meaning MGS5 is looking very probable.

The Sega countdown is so poorly executed...they left 'Super Monkey Ball' in the source code. And of course what possible hype is there to warrant a Super Monkey Ball countdown? None. Watch Sega set the gaming industry on fire with Monkey Ball!

And Sega could have $50 trillion worth of Fantastic Monkey Sonic Ball sales but they wouldn't port VF5R to consoles with that money. Sega will port VF5R/FT when the arcade scene is run dry of money and into the ground or they'll not port it at all.

I admit I wasn`t 100% sure with what you initially said, thanks for clearing things up I get what your intentions were with your point, but what I said still stands for me. [IMG]

Just to be clear they might still announce something for VF, but the lottery ball thing is certainly not part of it.
