1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

The people who love the game will play when the next VF comes around, whether it's in six months or six years. I've only been on the site since VF4evo and I've seen lots of people come and go.

Honestly, I couldn't give a shit less as to when FS or VF6 will come out, or even if they do at all. VF5 is still an awesome game that I enjoy playing. I've got better things to do with my time than moan about SEGA's business decisions, and while I realize that some of you enjoy the whining and the trolling, I hope that you have better things to do than worry about things you clearly can't influence or change.

Remember how it was with VF4FT? I don't remember there being any rumours or hints from Sega about that making it to console and it was the same with VF5R. I don't remember anyone credible saying they'd heard anything about a VF5R console port and nothing from Sega. With FS apart from what certain people have heard there've been hints from Sega like the mention of pleasing international fans in response to the petition and the Final Showdown for console trademark.

Also don't forget this is the official song of VFDC

This seems like it's building up to some sort of hat eating forfeit. Is that what's happening? LOL

Sega needs to strike while the fighting iron is hot, but do they know it? Are they willing to market a game and support it at key tournaments to impress upon the audience that it has relevance and encourage the grassroots scene to pick it up?

Or will they remain gunshy of any release? It does not seem like such a high risk title if they spend smartly on marketing and grassroots, get it at EVO etc. But sales of the previous version in the US must have been poor and they don't seem to account very well for other factors such as different marketplace/appetite for fighters then, and the state of their campaign for the game.

The fact is, they don't seem to have the staff and/or infrastructure/interest to engage with the community in the way a fighting success would demand.

    We'll see.

I find it amusing that Sega will waste development time and resources on low quality home-only software(golden compass, newest 3-d sonic etc.), especially SOA, that goes right to the discount bins of every Target and Wal-Mart in U.S. But will not put in the effort to port a ready-made arcade game with a installed fan base. I mean, if they are worried about not selling enough copys of VF5 FS in U.S. they could simply limit the number produced to match the sales of VF 5. thats what book publishers do, they print copys to meet demand. Why should software be any different.
